Ranma 1/2 Fan Fiction Ideas

While I'm working on FAR too many fan fiction series, I've got a bunch of other fict ideas that I might one day write. I probably won't though. I do have something resembling a life. This list is here to see if anyone wants to use any of my ideas. Asking me to write one of these won't do much good. Now, if you like an idea or teaser and want to use it, just ask me: archive@mich.com

Note I'm a Knight of the True Fiancee, Akane, so the Ranma ideas have a definite Akane bias.

The Challenge
Genre: Lemon

Mikado arrives at the Tendo home to challenge Ranma. Ranma writes him off, but Mikado insists and insults Ranma's manliness in front of Akane and Nodoka. Ranma, of course, accepts the challenge. THEN he finds out what kind of fight it is. Seems Mikado believes that the farce of a skating match ruined his ladies man image and wants to reclaim it. The challenge to prove he's the 'better man,' sleep with as many girls as possible in one week's time.

Akane, naturally is PISSED, beats up Ranma and goes to the dojo. She knows Ranma can't back down from the challenge at this point, his personal code of honor won't let him. Nodoka, Nabiki and Ranma get the rules of the fight. Nabiki is upset that Mikado forbid giving or accepting money for sex, since she wanted to prostitute Ranma off.

Basic rules:
The challenge lasts from sunset that day to sunrise of the seventh night.
Each girl they have unprotected sex with is one point.
Having sex with the same girl multiple times will only count as one point.
Proof is needed of the time they had sex with a girl.
No prostitution.

Mikado is more concerned with his image as ladies man. If the girl is not willing to risk pregnancy, then there is no point in 'making love' to her. Nodoka, unfortunately, agrees.

Akane, despite protests and with a little prodding from Nabiki, is Ranma's first point. Nabiki decides to be Ranma's second point (sex with a stud like Ranma with probably zero consequences, why not?). Kasumi debates whether or not to help Ranma. Yuka helps out. Sayuri is rather shy about it, but also sleeps with Ranma.

Ukyou might not participate since sleeping with Ranma won't guarantee that he'll marry her. Ranma might not let Shampoo participate since sleeping with her might finalize the 'marriage.' Kodachi depends on how the author approaches her sanity-- does she want Ranma or is it all just a game?

When the week is up, Ranma has a rather large number of girls, about twenty or so. They all are at the dojo when the pretty boy arrives with his proof, videos of him having sex with the time and date recorded.

Now, it could end there. Ranma might win by a land slide or Mikado could win. There might be a second part of the challenge added. The title could go to the guy who fathers the most children from the challenge. If the girl aborts, it won't count. Suggested: Sayuri, two random Furinkan girls, and one of Ranma's suitors, but not Akane. Go for insanity over resolution until the desired end is near.

First Step
Genre: Original Flavor to Serious - potential Lemon

Ranma decides to search for a cure. Why now? How does everyone react? There are many ficts where 'Ranma returns after X years while searching for a cure to Jusenkyo,' but few of him actually leaving. Most of these ficts have a few things in common: that Ranma is almost ready to commit to Akane but wants to be a 100% male for her, half of them have Akane sleeping with him before he leaves, and that he either goes alone or with Ryoga. However, most of them don't reference what happened when Ranma left with anything more than a flashback or two and some references from the characters.

Broken Mask
Genre: Serious

It's nearing the end of Ranma's second year of high school and Nabiki's third and last. The pressure builds for her to do well on the college entrance exam. Also, Akane (and maybe Ranma) approach Nabiki to help remove Ranma's suitor problem. Nabiki takes the job as a distraction and starts doing things to try and break the various engagements. Shampoo and Kodachi threaten to kill Nabiki if she interferes with their relationship with Ranma. Nabiki also attempts to distract Kuno by flirting with him and trying to get him to fall in 'love' with her.

On the morning of a college entrance practice exam, Shampoo makes sure Nabiki knows how serious the Amazon's threat of not interfering really is. Then Kuno not only professes love to her, but proposes marriage. When Nabiki gets the results of the practice exam, she finds out she royally bombed it. She returns home feeling hopelessly depressed and trashes her room.

Death threats, Kuno's proposal, a failed important test and Nerima insanity had caused Nabiki to go through a nervous breakdown. Kuno visits daily to help his fiancee, though she has yet to accept. Ms. Hinako also visits in attempts to help Nabiki return to school (and try to get closer to Soun). Ms. Hinako is probably the first to realize that Nabiki has mentally become the age she was when her mother died. She still has all her knowledge and tries to act mercenarily at times, but her actions are more of a scared child of eight than an over stressed teenager. Nabiki slowly recovers, and with the decision to delay taking the college entrance exam for a year relieves a lot of stress for her and she returns to school.

Ranma's treatment of his suitors start to grow colder. After it was explained why Nabiki had the nervous break down, Ranma feels guilty since he is partly responsible. But he especially blames Shampoo and Kodachi because of the death threats, and while they may claim they had no intention of hurting her, scaring Nabiki had helped cause her to go over the edge. When Ms. Hinako tells Ranma that Nabiki needs a stable environment and that he must do something about the suitors. He then tells his suitors that they are only welcomed at the Tendo home as friends, Akane is his fiancee, and if they don't like that they will not be allowed onto Tendo property and will be violently removed if they try. This does not sit well with them, and shortly afterwards all show up at once. While trying to get them to leave, Kasumi gets upset at the disturbance and whacks Ukyou with a frying pan, and she orders them to leave. Ukyou hasn't given up Ranma yet, but won't chase after him if Nabiki is present. Shampoo gives up going to the Tendo home after a few more times. Kuno attempts to keep Kodachi away, but only has limited success.

A year later Nabiki is, more or less, recovered. She is far less mercenary and isn't as prone to sarcastic remarks. However, if her fiance, Kuno, gets out of line- her response is more akin to Akane's, as in slap and yell at him. Kuno has been attending a decent Tokyo university and has been helping Nabiki prepare to take her exam with hopes that she would be able to join him at his university. The results would allow her to attend a better school, but she decides to join her fiance.

Ranma and Akane have also passed their test and plan to go to college far away from Tokyo together. With the suitor problems under better control, they get married shortly after graduating high school. Nodoka and Genma have long since returned home, which now belong to Ranma and Akane.

Kasumi cleaned up after the wedding reception, which was held at the dojo. She saw the new home and dojo signs, since the house now belonged to the Saotome clan. She had also noticed earlier that Nabiki had left with Kuno during the reception and still hadn't returned. She stayed up all night with her thoughts of Akane being married and that Nabiki should be married now as well. That both of them were going to be leaving home for college, and she was now twenty-two, single, with no means to support herself.

When Soun woke up the following morning, he noticed something odd about Kasumi. He couldn't place it until she started talking. Kasumi's feeling of loneliness and inadequacies had caused her to breakdown in a more severe manor than Nabiki had- Kasumi now believed she was her own mother. Soun became very scared as she talked about how empty their home felt and that their daughters were all grown up now. Soun called his girlfriend, Ms. Hinako, for help. When 'Mrs. Tendo' overheard that Soun was talking to Hinako on the phone, she got upset over the 'husband stealer.' Soun tries to appease her, but feels helpless. Ms. Hinako arrives with police and they have her committed.

Ranma and Akane don't find out until after the honeymoon is over that Kasumi had a break down. Akane becomes scared that she and/or her will have mental problems since it is possible to inherit mental instability. Ranma helps calm her by stating that she rarely holds things in and tends to express herself directly. Nabiki and Kasumi had rarely shown that they could get upset, and that if Akane was upset she'd let the entire block know it. It helps her cope with the fear.

Kasumi recovers and after several months is released from the psychiatric ward. She decides to attend college and study medicine, not so much for the degree but to find a husband.

Too Many Fiancees
Genre: Humor, Original Flavorish

A few days after Ryoga proposed to Akari, he is hunted down by a girl named Yohko (either the Devil Hunter or a girl styled after her). Much to his, and Akari's, dismay- it seems Mr. Hibiki made an agreement with the girl's grandmother that Ryoga would marry Yohko. (Ranma just loves this.)

A week later, an elderly gentleman shows up at the Tendo home with a boy and a girl. When the man discovered Soun had three girls and that Akane is the best martial artist of them he demands the Tendo patriarch complete the agreement between them. That one of his children, his son, would marry Akane, the best martial artist Soun had sired.

Akane (with help from Ranma) pays Nabiki a lot of money to not be engaged to the guy. When she fails, Akane demands that she would go through with the deal. Akane drags Nabiki to Cologne to get her a crash course in martial arts. Pride keeps Nabiki going through training, just so she can beat her little sister up for making her do this.

While Nabiki tries to fix the engagement issue, Ukyou is visited by a sweet demure girl who says that they are to be married. The girl knows Ukyou is also female, and she prefers it that way. Ukyou is not happy when she talks to her father. Comments of Ukyou's leads her father to think that she's falling in love with that Konatsu girl er... guy. When Ukyou is away at the market Mr. Kuonji meets and welcomes Konatsu as his future 'daughter-in-law.'

Kodachi finally meets her father and have a long talk. During the talk she gets introduced to a Hawaiian Sumo Wrestler, her fiance.

When Akane dragged Nabiki to Cologne to get training, why did the matriarch agree? To piss off a visiting matriarch. One who recently came to town and informed the Amazon trio that the council has decided that Ranma is no longer married to Shampoo (for continued refusal, and that it isn't a good idea to upset someone who killed their Phoenix god- Saffron). They also decreed for Shampoo to regain honor and position in tribe she most marry an Amazon of their choosing. Mousse is pissed until he finds out he was the one they chose. Shampoo is beyond angry and Mousse doesn't know what to do when everything he wants is handed to him.

Things settle down a little, then Nodoka runs into an old friend. One who reminds her of a promise made when they were twelve. The following day Nodoka is reluctant to introduce Ranma to a new fiancee. While Akane is pissed, the recent rash of engagements and her current closeness to Ranma keeps her from flying completely off the handle, especially since Ranma seems more upset about it than she is.

Ryoga finds his mother and talks to her about his recent fiancee trouble only to find that she also engaged him to a girl he has yet to meet. She gives him the address of the girl. Ryoga finds this girl is even more boy hungry than the girl his dad engaged him to.

Kodachi seeing yet another rival enter the picture, and wanting a means to ditch 'the blob,' decides to get a valid claim staked. She goes to Genma with several million yen to get him to acknowledge Kodachi as a valid fiancee.

Engagements at this point:
Akane- Ranma and currently to the son of a minor noble.
Kodachi- Ranma and the Hawaiian Sumo Wrestler.
Mousse- Shampoo
Nabiki- none as yet, but potentially to the minor noble.
Ranma- Akane, Ukyou, girl engaged by mother, and Kodachi. (Shampoo still hasn't given up but has no valid claim).
Ryoga- Akari, Yohko, and 'Makoto.'
Shampoo- Mousse (but as far as she's concerned: Ranma)
Ukyou- Ranma (sort of), cute lesbian (not really), Konatsu (daddy's current favorite).
Then the fun begins as the characters start trying to unravel the mess.

When Ranma finds out about Kodachi he gets PISSED at his father. He had considered a plan to end the fiancee mess, and in the heat of the moment goes through with it. Ranma requests Mr. Tendo to adopt him as his son-- which means by Japanese customs after a period of training to be a Tendo, Ranma will marry one of his daughters. Akane goes from being angry as hell about Kodachi to scared shitless as she's only got a couple months until the wedding march.

Slumber Party
Genre: Humor, Lime maybe Lemon

One of Akane's classmates throws a slumber party and invites all the girls. Seeing as it is for that weekend, only a few make it. Akane, Nabiki, Ukyou, Yuka, and Sayuri attend.

There are two ways to handle this.

First, Akane and Ukyou go there a little nervous about one of the games they know will be played, 'Truth or Dare.' Akane is quite surprised at how sexually experienced everyone is, that only Ukyou and one other party goers haven't gone any farther with a guy than she has. Akane starts to wonder if she is being a bit too much of a prude in private as all the girls are telling her.

The other is 'Surprise Party' (teaser [lemon] contains sexually explicit material), where everyone goes there with preconceived notions about everyone else which are wrong. The party is a sort of bridal shower for one of party members. The shyest girl in their class uses the organizer's computer to upload XXX pictures of herself off the net. Nabiki is a prostitute. Ukyou has given up on Ranma and her first kiss was to a girl in junior high. Akane spent the last couple days locked in her room with Ranma.

Consequences
Genre: Serious

Nabiki has growing concern her weekend activities have finally caught up with her and sets out to remove that little problem, however Nodoka didn't miss the signs either. Nodoka confronts Nabiki about her suspicions that the Tendo girl is pregnant in front of her father. Surprisingly Ranma backs up his mother by adding in other signs. Nabiki becomes be flustered being caught flat-footed and slightly imbalanced hormonally. She first tries to deny it but Nodoka found Nabiki's positive pregnancy test in the bathroom (Nabiki had dropped it in fright and ran out). Nabiki, backed into a corner admits she is pregnant, but fingers Ranma as the father. Which he of course denies.

Akane is torn between who to trust, but sides with Ranma after doing a sort of lie detector test (he's a rotten liar and could tell he wasn't lying about this). However, everyone else sides with Nabiki and begins preparations for him to marry her, which only scares Nabiki more.

Ranma and Akane let slip about Nabiki's 'blessing' to see if the father makes himself known. While Nabiki really hates her recent problems of not being able to think straight, and she is not sure what to do about the whole marriage issue. She is confronted by Kuno as he just heard of the pregnancy and wants to know if it is his. Nabiki honestly doesn't know as Mikado or Daisuke may be the father as well. This, of course, disturbs Akane and Ranma. Ranma and Akane persuade Kuno using his 'samurai honor' to get him to admit to Soun he might be the father and thus ends current marriage plans. Some hard decisions have to be made regarding Nabiki. Does she marry Kuno? Does she wait to find out who the father is and marries him? Does she just have the kid, sans father? Does she just have an abortion?

As you may notice Nabiki will be slightly and occasionally extremely out of character due to hormonal problems (pregnancy will do that).

Times Up
Genre: Somewhat Original flavor to Serious

A new law has been passed that changes the minimum marriage age to go from twelve to eighteen (oddly age of consent is still twelve- while weird it IS Japanese law). That means if a certain couple are going to be married within the next year, they will have to be married now before the laws go into effect. So... Hiroshi and Yuka are dragged to an omiai and informed that in one week they will be married. Hiroshi and Yuka want to contest this but it is clear that if Hiroshi doesn't marry Yuka he's disowned and Yuka will be moving out of her house one way or the other. Their parents had planned for this to happen three months from now, but Japanese law won't allow it then.

Yuka goes to Akane for help since Akane knows exactly what she's going through, as Hiroshi goes to talk to Ranma. However, Yuka's parents want to cut down the price of the ceremony, so they go to the Tendos to suggest a double marriage. Ranma and Akane attempt to at least derail the 'double' part.

A bridal shower is held for Yuka, which Akane and Ukyou are invited. Shampoo and Kodachi believe that party is for Akane though and attack it. Akane and Ukyou hold their own until Ranma shows up (called by Yuka or Sayuri). Ranma is very pissed at Shampoo and Kodachi and ends up being invited to join in after being purposely splashed with water (Ranma reluctantly agrees in case Shampoo and Kodachi come back).

Ranma and Akane are able to back out of getting married then but only after promising to be married when they turn eighteen. Yuka and Hiroshi are married at the dojo though and Shampoo, Kodachi, and Kuno attack it believing it is Ranma and Akane's wedding.

Aftermath includes Ranma talking to Hiroshi and listens as the newlywed talk about the difference of sleeping with Yuka, his wife, and Sayoko, one of the easier girls at Furinkan. Akane likewise talks to Yuka and sees how much her friend changed now that she's married. Ranma and Akane wonder if they made a mistake in waiting.

Tangled Lines
Genre: Somewhat Original flavor

Going over the first volumes of Ranma for the millionth time (like I'd ever get bored of it) I thought about one of the potential directions Takahashi-sensei had seemingly toyed with before cementing the direction she was going with the story.

The idea comes from how the initial love lines looked. Nabiki showed interest in Kuno but he loved Akane and 'the pig-tailed girl.' Dr. Tofu is in love with Kasumi, and while she shows some interest there is only a few signs she returns his feelings. Now what if situations happened a little differently? What if Nabiki was still interested in Kuno even with his deluded nature and through a comedy of errors Ranma is seemingly courting Kasumi and thus gets on the doctor's bad side? Add that Ryoga ending up in Kasumi's room the first night instead of Akane's and falling in love with her and other mishaps that cause the love lines look very tangled. And as the love changes so does hate.

Akane loves Dr. Tofu but has a growing interest in Ranma.
Dr. Tofu is in love with Kasumi and doesn't trust Ranma.
Kasumi is somewhat interested in Dr. Tofu and is flattered by Ranma's and Ryoga's attention.
Kodachi wants ALL the guys.
Kuno is in love with Akane (and maybe female Ranma), of course he wants male Ranma dead.
Mousse loves Shampoo, gets Ranma's help to win his love, and despises Ryoga.
Nabiki has a crush on Kuno and dislikes the idea of Ranma as in-law.
Ranma is interested in/in love with Akane and has no interest in Kasumi except to keep her safe from P-Chan.
Ryoga loves Kasumi and resents Ranma interfering in his 'courtship.'
Shampoo lusts for Ryoga, who refuses to defeat a girl, but chases Ranma due to laws.
Ukyou becomes interested in Mousse, but wants Ranma either dead or married to Akane (ending her engagement to him).

Dreams of a Rose
Genre: Original Flavorish

Much to Ranma's displeasure, he finds out Kodachi has been spending time with his mother, almost like friends. He is frightened when he finds out that his mother actually likes Kodachi better than Akane ('We're so alike, and she isn't as short tempered as your fiance.') Before he knew it Kodachi had set up a meeting with both Nodoka and Genma and persuaded them to engage Ranma to her, and nullify all the other engagements. (Millions of yen, and a yattai plus whatever else Ukyou would want to correct her honor.)

This of course does not bode well. Kodachi has financial backing to buy off Genma, pay for Nabiki's support (who doesn't want Ranma as an in-law), and is in some ways scarily similar to Nodoka making it possible for them to be friends added to the fact the Kuno clan is of higher nobility than the Tendo clan.

Ranma and almost everyone else tries to fight this new engagement. However, with Nabiki's help, the engagement to a Tendo daughter is nullified in such a way that Nodoka would not hear of Ranma marrying Akane. In one confrontation between Ranma and his mother, she makes it clear that Ranma will marry Kodachi or he isn't being manly anymore and would have to... (touches the hilt of the katana) correct that.

Can Ranma convince his mother that Kodachi is a fruit cake that he NEVER wants to marry?
Does Ranma run off with Akane, renouncing his clan in the process?
What will Kodachi's reaction be to discovering who the 'pig-tailed girl' really is?
Would Shampoo give a rat's ass about what Kodachi claims?

So many possibilities using the few things Kodachi has going for her. Her intelligence, her money, and her clan status.

Do you want fries with that?
Genre: Humor

Part 1:
College is expensive and Nabiki has to make ends meet, so she ends up doing what many young college students do, work. Since she tried to get an internship first while still only a freshman- when her money started to really get tight she was left with one option- McDonalds as all the other decent restaurant jobs were already taken.

Nabiki is so 'overjoyed' at being a short order cook and occasional teller. And more than once wants to quit. Especially when she's trying to make a dozen hamburgers at the same time and they cook too darn fast.

Part 2:
Saotome Ranma and Akane get the grand tour of their home for the next four plus years by Nabiki, since they're going to the same school. Nabiki also tells them that they need jobs to make ends meet. Ranma makes a comment that they need jobs so Nabiki doesn't. She then scowls at him, puts on the McDonalds cap and say she has to go to work.

Akane lucks out and finds a job as a secretary for the school's teaching major department. Ranma ends up with various odd jobs, but needs a stable one. He opts to go to work at McDonalds because of the pay. He notes that Nabiki isn't there. A week later he's introduced to his new boss- Nabiki. She's pissed because while she struggled as a short order cook and he's bored doing the same job since it takes him a tenth of the time to make twice as many hamburgers. Ranma's upset at how slow the things cook.

The Turning Circle.
Genre: Next Generation

Starts with a girl running to school, only to be attacked by a horde of guys. The gym coach asks if she wants him to stop it, she says no and lays waste to the boys. The older sister of the girl groans at the display. The gym coach is showing signs of being worried about something.

Later the gym coach, who is Ranma, is at home with his wife, Akane (naturally), talking about something neither of them like in the least. The two girls mentioned are their daughters, and their talk is that when trying to resolve things with Ukyou's engagement the head of the Kuonji clan demanded the Saotome clan and Kuonji clan be joined within with the next generation and the Saotomes had to agree to resolve Genma's deeds or he'd have to commit seppuku. They had just received a letter from Kansai informing them Ukyou is coming- bringing along her son.

What will be screwed up about the Ukyou's son, or will it be that the Saotome daughters are messed up. Oh, wait-- all of them are messed up.

Hey, why does Ryoga have a contract signed by Ranma engaging his son to one of the daughters? Akane is NOT going to be happy to find out engaged both her daughters. Oh, wait. Ukyou's son and Ryoga's son wants the same daughter- the younger one. The older one is NOT happy that every guy goes after her sister and not her.

What about Sanenzin-san who was the one to arrange the morning sparring sessions out of his love for the young Saotome? His cousin, Kuno, however thinks he's as big an idiot as his father is.

What do you mean Genma took Ranma's youngest daughter on a one year training trip and left before telling anyone about it? This can NOT be good.

Problems, new, old, and revisited arise. One problem is Ranma's 'boss,' principal Kuno Tatewaki.

Pairings so far:
Ranma and Akane- have two daughters.
Ryoga and Akari- have one son and a daughter.
Ukyou and Kenichi (not in manga, deceased)- have one son.
Kuno and ??????- at least one son.
Kodachi and ??????- two sons twins
Mikado and ?????? (Not going to be Kodachi)- one son and a daughter
Nabiki and work.
Kasumi married and not living in the area.

Choices
Genre: Resolution

After a talk with either Nodoka or Kasumi, Ranma sets out to figure out who to marry and defines the qualifications of who he marries and gives his copy of his ideal answers to Kasumi. He goes around asking them questions. The first set without them knowing what's at stake and the second set they do.

First set:
Would you ever consider having sex with my female side?
What do you see yourself doing ten years from now?
What's more important love or honor?

Second set:
Would you let me take our kid on a long training trip?
If our kid gets engaged by honor, would you help break that engagement if he loves someone else.

Any suggestions to add to the list of questions are greatly appreciated.

Otoko
Genre: Anime Continuation

The anime series ends with Nodoka leaving the Tendo home after her first visit. Ranma decides that she will not see him until he is 100% male. The only means to do this is Jusenkyo, which means he'd have to leave the Tendo's (which he's stayed at for almost 2 years). He talks about his idea of going and Akane says that she'll go with him. They get into a little bit of an argument, but Ranma relents rather quickly. After some quick preparations, they leave telling only telling Kasumi about the trip.

Ranma and Akane go through some adventures while on the trip and, of course, grow closer. Ranma does get cured and after the initial celebration of 'won't be a girl again!' he starts to wonder if he somehow lost something more than the curse when he was cured.

Putting Affairs in Order

It's three months after the wedding disaster and the Ranma and Akane fights are now almost only expressions of frustrations of not being able to express their feelings because of how others would react. Nabiki, who's trying to study for college entrance exams, gets upset at this and the increased fights against other suitors decides it's time to put an end to it. She goes to her father and Akane and gives them an offer: 'I remove Shampoo and Ukyou claims on Ranma, and Akane marries Ranma and goes on a long 'training trip/honeymoon', and I get all the wedding gift money.' They agree (Akane reluctantly).

Nabiki first shreds Shampoo's claim by explaining to Pu that they're in Japan, and not a backwater little village with laws that that not even China recognizes and it's located IN China. Any attempts to enforce her laws could have lots of trouble from Japanese police. Cologne makes a comment that if Ranma tries to hold that opinion he'd better stay away from her village which is oh, so close to Jusenkyo.

Nabiki then goes to Ukyou, and explains to her certain problems concerning her 'engagement' to Ranma. First, the joining of the Saotome and Tendo clan takes precedence over any other claims. Second, Ranma was sort of given an omiai in which he chose Okonomiyaki over her- but some people might write it off since the omiai wasn't done correctly. Third, Ukyou's claim is held because Genma took her dowry, but that doesn't hold water since a signed contract makes said dowry the property of the Gambler King and not the Kuonji's so Genma stole the King's yattai. This, however, leaves Kuno, Kodachi, and other interfering factors. Not to mention would Shampoo and Ukyou stop their pursuit just because Akane has the only valid claim? I don't think so either. Can the second marriage attempt work? Does it succeed, but Ranma and Akane lead a long parade of people trying to get them?

Who Am I Now?
Genre: Introspection

It's the beginning of the school year and almost a year since Ranma arrived in Nerima (shortly after manga volume 38). The first part is a writing assignment for Ranma, Akane, and Ukyou as well as Nabiki and Kuno to write an in class assignment of who they are and in a week turn in a larger paper after really thinking who they are. The part includes the in class paper of who they think they are then. The subsequent parts include events of the week and some potential realizations.

Current thoughts:

Part 2 (Teaser) - Akane: Focuses on events that Akane deals with on Sunday. Starting with a shopping trip where she picks up some new boxers for Ranma which Yuka and Sayuri comment on Akane being a housewife. Akane returns home and discovers Kasumi isn't going to be home so Akane cooks diner for Ranma. Akane does some other chores for Kasumi, and then sets down to do her report and starts to realize something- she IS a housewife, or at least one in training.

Part 3 - Ranma: A week of general insanity. When Ranma is about to write a just a quick paper, finds Akane's report and decides to use hers to help define who he is.

Part 4 - Ukyou, Part 5 - Nabiki, and Part 6 - Kuno: Not a clue, but not all of them will make any personal realizations.

Part 7 - The results: The papers which aren't shown in the previous parts (just references to their contents). The papers are read aloud to the class, and will include some papers from the peanut gallery (Yuka, Hiroshi, Gosunkugi), and the classes reaction to them.

Relative Peace
Genre: Somewhat original flavor to WAFF with some lime.

Currently being written by Brad Angell. Part 1 can be found at Inspired By A Demented Mind Page

Final Days
Genre: Emotional

Akane and Nabiki are called from school, while Ranma remains wondering what's going on. Akane and Nabiki are taken to Nerima General Hospital where they find out their father is in a coma and has less than two weeks to live from a fatal ailment.

The Tendo sisters realize that their father knew he was dying, and that there is one point of clan business that needs to be done immediately. Akane and Nabiki return to school before it is let out and grab Ranma. They tell him what's happened to Soun while leading him to city hall. Ranma thinks its to cover any potential problems with Soun's death- and finds out he's right but in a way he doesn't exactly like.

The problem is Ranma and Akane have to get married immediately, and the two get into a fight about it. Nabiki points out that if Ranma doesn't marry Akane soon that the dojo goes to the closest Tendo heir that can afford it to pay the inheritance tax. They might not even get to live at their ancestral home anymore and Akane's dowry would be nonexistent. Ranma relents and marries Akane, but both doubt how the other feels.

How does Akane deal with her father dying and getting married?
How do Nabiki and Kasumi react to losing their father?
How does Ranma handle getting married to Akane and the loss of 'Uncle' Tendo?
How does Genma manage from the death of his best friend?

Ototo no Ranma
Genre: Divergence

What if when Nodoka arrived at the Tendo dojo, she brought someone with her? That person is Ranma's 12 years-old little brother, Isamu. There is a major problem though. Since Isamu is the son of Genma he can take Ranma's place in being engaged to a Tendo girl, and with Ukyou's claim on Ranma's hand specifically- Isamu might have to.

Ranma (or rather Ranko) and Akane would try to keep Ranma's multiple engagements a secret from Nodoka, and keep Isamu's existence a secret from the other fiancees. Akane's stated reason is that she doesn't want to be engaged to a 12-year-old. They'd be fairly successful the first time, but the second or third visit Isamu decides to run off and search for his older brother and runs into Ukyou. Ukyou is delighted to return Isamu home and meet Nodoka and explains she is Ranma's fiancee.

Note: Nodoka is shown to want to preserve honor to degrees that most wouldn't even consider. And given the manga characterization of her, she WOULD engage her twelve-year-old son to a sixteen/seventeen-year-old girl if honor is satisfied by it.

Here is where multiple breaks can occur and I'm not sure what to do with:
Nodoka decides that Isamu is now engaged to Akane so Ranma can fulfill his obligation to Ukyou.
Above results in Ranma running off with Akane.
Above results in Ranma revealing himself to Nodoka by stating he wants to chose who he marries (or that he wants to marry Akane).
Above results in Ranma trying to obey his mother's wishes, but has definite problems doing so.
Nodoka decides to wait until she talks to Ranma to find out what he wants.

Each possibility would have... interesting changes to Ryu Kumon story.

Unraveled Destiny (plot- includes things that should remain hidden from readers.)
Genre: Continuation, Original Flavor-ish

A series of non-canonical match-ups. The characters act the way they do in the Ranma series as events cause them to split up and pair off with people you probably don't expect. Everything that happens is to be believable.

In Your Shoes
Genre: Serious

Ranma finds a possible cure to his curse, but, as always, the cure is worse than the curse.

In an ancient tattered scroll Ranma finds a map that show the location of an amulet that can cure a Jusenkyo curse. Being very old, how the amulet cures the curse had been lost. Ranma and Akane set out to get it anyway. Mousse follows them and, after Ranma picks up the amulet, he tries to steal it. The amulet glows before one of Mousse's chain breaks the amulet rather than grabbing it. The amulet explodes in light.

When the three of them can see again, two of them realize something BAD has happened. Ranma is in Akane's body and Akane is in Ranma's body. They return to home with Mousse badly wounded. They talk to Cologne who is at a lost on how to reverse the effects. She looks for a means to put them back into their own bodies.

Akane has a traumatic incident when she tries to take a hot bath. She spends a whole day in bed realizing what she has done since she met Ranma and some things she had been denying to herself.

One to two months after they switched bodies, Cologne tells Ranma and Akane that there is probably no cure for them. She will send them a temporary one when she returns to China. Shampoo's claim on Ranma is also deemed no longer valid.

Ranma and Akane continue to cope as do those around them.

Alternate Timeline Ficts

A series of ideas of how to change the Ranma 1/2 story before it even starts.

A Little Company On The Road.
Akane gets volunteered to join Genma and Ranma when they set out to go to Jusenkyo. She discovers she is engaged to Ranma before the trip, but Ranma doesn't know yet.

Out of Shampoo.
When Ranma visited the Amazon tribe and when (s)he fought Shampoo, the battle was a lot longer and Ranma defeated Shampoo by a narrow victory. Shampoo impressed by the girls skill offered her the possibility of joining the tribe, which Ranma refused but is considered an honorary Amazon. This resulted in no Shampoo to get in the way of Ranma and Akane getting closer early in series. But what about all the techniques Cologne taught Ranma that he'll never learn now?

For The Sake Of Honor (Teaser)
Ranma is excessively honorable. To him honor is everything. He would sooner die with honor, than live without it. Problem, he just arrived at the Tendo dojo, cursed, and told he's bound by honor to marry one of the girls.

Loss of Innocence
Genre: Serious, Lime

Two moments with six different possibilities. Shampoo gets a hold of the cliched passion spice and drugs the ramen as done in many fanfics, but this time it will be done in a serious, real life style.

Moment One: Akane has started to trust Shampoo, possibly to the point of being sort of friends. After all, Shampoo hadn't tried drugging food for almost a year now and hadn't noticeably tried to kill her in months. So when Shampoo offers Akane some food meant for Ranma, Akane didn't think it might have any bad side-effects. But the food was drugged with 'passion spice' and made Akane extremely horny.

Possibility One: Akane grabbed the nearest man to her and ran off to soothe her raging hormones with hours of sex, but the closest man to her was Kuno. She is unable to hide that she had sex with Kuno. (Completed on main web page.)
Possibility Two: Akane almost grabbed Kuno, but then saw Ryoga and decided she'd rather do him. Shortly after doing the deed, Ryoga gets lost. Akane attempts to hide what happened.
Possibility Three: Cologne discovered what Shampoo was up to and used shiatsu to allow Akane to think clearly, though she is still hornier than hell. Akane makes it back to home when the urge becomes overwhelming and has Ranma enter her room.

Moment Two: Shampoo gets her target, Ranma eats the ramen.

Possibility Four: Ranma under the influence of the drug, screws Shampoo like no tomorrow.
Possibility Five: Akane intrudes just after Ranma ate the food, and becomes the object of his lust.
Possibility Six: Cologne stops Shampoo by using shiatsu on Ranma to allow him to think clearly, but is still VERY horny.

More twisted possibilities, what if Ranma was female when he ate the drugged food?

In possibilities 3, 5, and 6 does Ranma and Akane have sex? How about the other three possibilities? What happens to Shampoo for trying to win Ranma with the use of this drug? How does everyone involved react? I don't know if I'll finish the series.

A Moment's Rage (teaser)
Genre: Dark

Everyone has kept a secret from Akane, but when she found out what is was, the worst possible reaction occurred. How does Akane deal with the results of her anger and the others about what happen because they kept the secret?

Tainted Past
Genre: Serious

A new girl, Hitomi, shows up at the Tendo Dojo looking for Ranma. What's different about her than all the other girls, her one-year-old daughter, Ryoko, she brought with her. Ranma's daughter.

When Ranma was fifteen he had close relationship with the Hitomi, and had sex with her a couple times. They broke up on rather bad terms (before either knew about the baby). Later Ranma noticed her father talking angrily at Genma and the next morning it was training trip time. Ranma never saw her again until after Manga volume 38. (Ranma subconsciously suspected she was preggers.)

Hitomi has stated she has no interest in a relationship with Ranma, just that she felt he should know about his daughter. She is also having a hard time financially. (But her reactions shows she still has some love for Ranma, and he is shown to like her as well - but not as much as Akane.)

How does this fit with the sex shy Ranma of the manga?
First, Ranma was not about to tell the Tendo sisters that his first kiss was not by Mikado, but by a girl who took his virginity as well.
Second, one of the reasons Ranma felt that relationship went sour was because they had sex.
Third, Ranma had enough evidence to suspect Hitomi was pregnant, he just wouldn't admit it to himself.

Ignorance is Bliss (plot outline)
Genre: Original flavorish

Dr. Tofu experimenting with an obscure medical technique learns his life in Nerima had been erased. He returns to Nerima and discovers almost everyone he knew had their memories messed with as well. Dr. Tofu's existence was only the tip of the iceberg. He returns their memories and learn that Cologne was the one who erased their memory. After the Ranma crew gets revenge on Cologne, making sure she never bothers them again, they start trying to piece their lives back together.

Love Storm and/or A Weekend Alone (Couple scene ideas)
Genre: [Lemon]

Ranma and Akane decide to have pre-nuptial sex without any of the cliches (It wasn't an accident, and no love potions).

The story would be post manga series and Ranma and Akane are VERY close to saying 'I love you' and agreeing to get married. The problem with suitors though doesn't allow a wedding any time soon.

Love Storm:
While on a one week training trip, Ranma and Akane must find shelter to avoid being outside since a typhoon was about to strike. The only place they could find in time was a love motel and had only enough money for one room.

A Weekend Alone:
Nabiki is off college hunting on the other side of Japan with Kuno. Kasumi won a trip through a cooking contest and left with Soun. Nodoka and Genma returned to the Saotome home. Who is left at the Tendo home, alone? Ranma and Akane.

This leaves Akane and Ranma alone at the Tendo home for an entire weekend. Akane gets everyone who knows from telling Ukyou, Shampoo, or Kodachi because she wants a nice quiet weekend with Ranma. She debates the pros and cons of seducing Ranma. Ranma is a bit nervous about being alone with Akane for an entire weekend but makes an effort to be nice because he doesn't want to ruin it. Akane decides to give Ranma hints that she's his for the taking and on their second night alone, he gives into temptation.

HE'S MINE
Genre: Original

It's after Manga Volume 38 and Akane is going to make sure Ranma marries her. (Manga Fact - Akane convinced herself at the end of the Manga that he loves her.) Certain events that would be included is Akane's revenge against Nabiki for inviting her rivals. Ranma is not sure that he likes what Akane is doing as it means once she's done handling his fiancees, he's as good as married. Definitely has a little chat with Ranma (most likely something similar to Time Alone found below.)

Time Alone
Genre: Original

Akane wants to talk to Ranma about what happened during the events of Manga volume 38. Akane desperately tries to get some time alone with Ranma, but everything and everyone keeps interrupting them just as she would get to talk about their feelings.

A line I'd likely use:
Akane, furious that her father and Genma have interrupted yet another private moment between herself and Ranma, screamed, "How am I suppose to tell that Baka that I love him, if you keep interrupting me!?"
