All her life, no one ever told her she was special or important. The only person who ever cared about her was Nakago, and yet she cared about other people herself. As her fans, we have an opportunity to fix that here. Send me your words of praise for Soi so I can put them up here. Kerry-chan 1) Even though she's very powerful, she shows mercy several times...she is not hateful or venomous. 2) I can't help but feel sympathy for someone who had such a difficult life, and does everything in her life for true love. 3) I love strong female characters! A.J. Cosgrove She's a strong female character in a genre when there aren't a lot of REALLY strong female characters. Plus, she's just cool and loves Nakago even when he acts like a...well...you know. ^_^ The Wandering Mage Chichiri A woman in love, real love is a beautiful thing, and it brings out the best in a woman, traits like loyalty, gentleness, fierceness in protecting the one she cares for, intelligence, and patience. Julie Farel I like Soi because she represents the inner strength that all women possess, especially those who follow great men, and are loved by a great man. She is perfect for Nakago, as he is for her. Her beauty and feminity isn't lost because she is a soldier; rather, it enhances her abilities. She is a tribute to those who have experienced incredible hardships and still have managed to survive. Tanya (aka Lady Kyoko) Well, in most circumstances, I tend not to like those characters placed in the role of "bad guy" (blasphemy, I know ... how dare I). However, even I have to give any character who would willingly take a sword in the back for someone they loved some credit. In fact, that is the main reason why she is one of my favorite characters: her unwavering love for Nakago, a person who never really returned her love until she was gone. Someone who loves someone that much can't be bad at heart, and Soi isn't. Rence 1) She tried to barbeque Miaka. 2) She knows bouchuu magic and isn't intimidated by the thought of using it. 3) Most of all, she reperesents feminine strength. She has shown she can be strong and self-sufficient without losing the tenderness of being a woman; so she was able to find a balance between the two. She was a powerful enemy but she was capable of showing mercy. She caught the heart of someone that everyone thought didn't have a heart to capture which shows she not only has a strong drive for fight, but she has a strong drive for love. The love she had for her man didn't smother her or make her weak. It made her stronger and braver. Tasuki Seikun Because she can think logically and emotionally at the same time, while putting her all into everything she does. She's strong, and gentle, a true woman with a strong heart and a will that rivals that of a Miko. Clover Soi is has intelligence and beauty. She is compassionate and strong. I think she could do anything. I love how she stays by Nakago till the very end, even though at times it seemed she shouldn't have. It's great how she was always loyal to him and loved him, at his coldest moments. I love how Soi would always be strong, no matter what was happening. And how she could be strong and sad at the time. It just seems like she has a lot of depth to her, much more than any of us got to know. I hope she is recognized for all she is- there aren't enough anime women like her out there... she is truly unique, ne? ^_^ Raye The lady is beautiful, strong and intelligent. Sold into a profession that she didn't want to have anything to do with by her own parents, she managed not to let it warp her soul. Instead, she was able to move beyond her own pain, to continue to care for others, and to grow as a person. We all say that you should deal with trauma and put it behind us; Soi was able to do it, and I admire her greatlyfor it. Maggie-chan She's just so kewl.... and so beautiful too! I love her hair, and her eyes, and her voice for that matter. I'm not overly fond of Nakago, but I admire Soi's loyalty and love for him. I got really mad at her at one point, buuut.. she was still just so kewl, even if I wished she hadn't done that.. so she just kicks ass ^-^ Michael Burgess Soi is a cool character, she has an inner strength, and coldness that makes her worthy of being an oppenent of Suzalu's Seishi. Miyamoto I like Soi because I can relate to her on many topics even though she's female, not to mention that she has amazing inner strength, a fierce sense of loyalty, and undying love. Raistlin Soi is a poignant and moving figure, her suffering and quiet love for Nakago truly moves my heart. She is strong, honorable and if Nakago is the only one who ever loved her, then Soi is also the only one who ever truly saw, understoodand loved Nakago just as he was (except for his mother, of course). They were each other's salvation and the power and beauty of their story makes theirs a love to be honored. Lauren 1. She's seiryuu 2. Strong, beautiful, and stands up to what she believes in. 3. Loves Nakago 4. She's nice, proud, and she cares 5. What more? She's SOI!!! Mai-chan a.k.a. Soi a.k.a. Soi-chan Well, I like Soi so much (had the net title of Soi for a little over 3 or 4 years...and I know this page isn't for me. o.O) is cuz she's cool. She's also strong in many ways. Soi has been through so much that should scar her for life o.O yet she still experiences all da normal human feelings, compassion, hatred, anger, etc. And with true sincerity. ^^ So she is definately one to admire. Yanwen Well... Soi is the main reason we love Nakago. Think about it. Nakago is this seem-to-be-evil dude, and then he secretly cares whole heartedly about a girl. If Soi is not there to love him, and be loved by him, we would never see the softer side of Nakago, so let's all bow down to Soi!! She is a real lady!! Q.Q And Nakago love her! That is enough to tell you how great she is! And a personal reason I like her is that when I first saw FY, my false memory told me that Soi is a libra, and since i am a libra, I have much good feelings towards Soi. Then it turn out that the libra was Tomo! m.... @.@;;; But I still like her. As for Tomo..... Katy-chan Soi is my absolute favorite character. She is strong and brave. She has a special kind of charm that neither Miaka or Yui has (not thatI dont like them). Soi is one of the best characters in all anime!! It's about time she had a fan club! Angela Wiles why i love soi: *ahem* if nakago-sama loves soi, *furrows brow* and he does, what choice have i? petty jealousy does not become a member of the future ruling class. there are many reasons to love soi in addition to this, but as nakago's devoted servant i must first concede that his will is mine and that his fulfillment is mine also. not to mention she's one of the rare female seishi of fy. male harems are nice, well, very nice, but the fair sex deserves representation! i'm at a loss... there's just so much to love! her powers are spiffy, her sympathetic side is truly endearing, she's beautiful, she's sensitive, she's intelligent. she can be attractive without going sd every five minutes. not to mention that any devotee of nakago-sama must personally identify with her plight. i love soi, and i'll stand by that. ^_^ Nakago_tomo 1.She is a seiryuu shichiseishi. 2.She is strong. Not like Miaka, always ask people to protect her. 3.She is Nakago's Lover. 4.The relationship with Tomo is JUST FUNNY!! 5.She is very sexy, attractive,and has a very unique personality. 6.She is soft-hearted. It all show when she beg Nakago not to kill Ashitare and when she tell Miaka that Miaka is still a virgin..... 7.Read the lyrics of the song "Please Shiver" you will know how a sweet girl she is. And read the Lyrics of the song " Ice Pride" you will know how powerful she is , and how different she is from any other women i in the world.8.There is never enough space to say how good she is. The Goddess Skuld Why Skuld luv's Soi:1. She's strong, not weak, and she doesn't need other people to save her from a pinch.2. Okay, that's all I can think up off the top of my head.Domo! Jasmine Lim I like her because she's pretty and she saved Nakago's life. I also love her hair style. Shinigami Soi is . . . different, to say the least. What she went through as a child was enough to break the will of most people, yet instead of letting her experiences warp and twist her, she used them to make herself stronger. As a woman, a warrior, and a human being, Soi displayed a true inner strength and courage that many overlook or even deny. Her love for Nakago never wavered, even when she didn't agree with what he was doing. Instead, she supported him, helping him in any way she could. She protected him until the very end, never even flinching, even when she sacrificed her own life so that he could live. Soi's love for Nakago was not her weakness, as many would say; it was her strength. Suiren Soi's the best and strongest and she's just way cool and she's Nakago's and Nakago's just as awesome.... Rissa Carlysle Reasons why I like Soi: 1. Can hold her own against almost any of the guys in FY. 2. Was willing to sacrifice her own life to save the man she loved. 3. Has courage and inner strength to spare. 4. Can take care of herself instead of constantly whining and begging her love interst to come save her like a certain other character I could mention. 5. Didn't let her really sh**ty past control her and ruin her life. 6. Tried to fry Miaka, which automatically gives her a couple extra brownie points in my book. ^_~ Hotaru I have to say, Soi probably is the most stable character in the whole show. All the characters change their minds at some time or another to opposing ideas. The best badguys are the ones who stick to their guns. The truth is though, Soi doesn't really seem to want to fight, but she does it for Nakago. Love is a beautiful thing, even if it is untold. ^_~ I also think Soi's a very good character because she's strong and beautiful. They need more people like her and less "Oh god save me I'm just a woman" people in anime. I hope to see more of her in the OAV's because she's my fav. Seriyuu seishi besides Nakago, of course. Nishi Soi is beautiful, strong and tough, yet feminine andvulnerable. One of the things I love most about her is her love for Nakago, and her fierce loyalty to him that becomes a factor towards her death. Anyone who loves that passionately, and whole-heartedly to sacrifice their life for the one they loves earnsmy respect. RyuuenNoAisai I like Soi because she is a strong female character. Even though she loves Nakago and serves him, she is still a kind person. She shows this trait several times throughout the series. She is one of my favorite female characters. Zhou Dong (Jojo) She is not "bad" or "evil" as many people make her out to be. I admire her love for Nakago. At a time when she's in the worse timeof her life, she found something to love. She turned all her energy and feelings positive through this love instead of becoming bitter and resentful. I hear people praising Miaka and Tamahome's love all the time, why not Soi and Nakago's? After all, Soi and Nakago don't get nearly as happy an ending as Miaka and Tamahome get. True that Miaka and Tamahome have lots of trials and obstacles between their love, but Soi and Nakago have just as many, if not more. Of course, I also think that Soi's powers are awsome too. She is one of the strongest female characters I've seen in anime. Soi is a rare case in anime where a female character is beautiful, powerful, and in love. She also doesn't have a food fetish like many other female anime characters (i.e. Sailor Moon & Miaka). Rachel I've been a Sailor Moon fan for a while. But I was looking for something new to get into. Fushigi Yuugi caught my eye, but I was a little if-y aboutit.. But I found two major reasons to watch it. One of them was Soi. I downloaded her music crip, and I was instantly enthrawled. She's just incredible. The video shows what a heart she has. That all she ever wanted was Nakago's love. She's a compassionate caring woman, and even when she knows he won't love her, she sticks by his side to the end, and ultimately sacrifices her life for him. Anyone, who would do that, is a very noble, caring person. Her last words were "Nakago.. I love you". Enough Said. Clo-chan Well I think (although I like all those bishounen guys ^_~ ) FY lacks female characters ! And IMHO Soi is by far the best, strongest and mostinteresting of those few. I mean she's the only real woman around ! (I once hoped to see Nuriko be a strong willed woman, but I then found out...) From the very first time I saw her I knew she would be great ! I can't really say anything more than what everyone else has said : she's beautiful, she's strong, she's loyal, she's powerful and even though she's on the Seiryuside, she's perfectly human. She's actually one of the most human and realistic characters : she's not over-nice and wonderful. But she's not cruel nor really nasty. A lot of characters seem to be so good and nice or else so cruel that they couldn't even exist ! But Soi is a real strong-willed and powerful woman with a human heart. She's desperately in love with a man who seems to ignore her, but she still stays silently and loyally at his side. And underneath her strength, she hides a sensitive heart and true feelings ! Well let's come to it : I just think she's awesome ! And definitely the best female character un FY ! Adia, Soi no Miko Well first of all, im Soi No Miko. (i shouldve joined earlier ^_^;;) i think she's the greatest cuz she's the only female in the show that can defend herself, she's got cool hair, she's loyal (to nakkie and her fellow seishi) she's got awesome attacks, plus she's sexually experienced (>_<) Miaka Kou She's very nice and gentle person. She loves Nakago very much and I wish she hadn't died. Soi no Miko I love Soi for many reasons, she is loyal, to everyone, she managed to scrounge up some respect for Miaka, She seduced Tamahome, She loves Nakago, He loves her, She broke down Nakago's walls, and made him love and be loved, and she didn't let her Horrible childhood destroy her, we should all aspire to her incredable strengh, dignity and integrity. WHO KILLED HER I AM PUTTING UP A HATE SHRINE!!!!!! Asuka Soi is the coolest anime character(and manga) that i've seen b4. Even though i haven't seen her in the videos or manga(I didn't get that far yet...poor me--I'm hoping that I will at least get the manga), I still know she is cool and will remain cool....becoz of all the spoilers on the internet. Soi, unlike other girls in FY(Miaka, for an example), is strong. She is beautiful, on both the outside and the heart. Her love for Nakago is _undying_(like Miaka's to Tamahome's and Tamahome's to Miaka's and Hotohori's to Miaka's.....and....*gets cut off*). But what's different, is that Nakago never returned her feelings(not that he doesn't love her, but he just didn't tell her he loved her) but Tamahome did(to Miaka, of course. then again Hotohori loves Miaka but Miaka didn't love him back...but Hotohori married Houki, so...). Soi is kind-hearted too. Like when she asked Nakago not to kill Ashitare, and when she told Miaka that she _didn't_ get...ummm....let's just say, "Miaka could still summon Suzaku". Soi is really the coolest! |
