Namikaze Maron
An 8th grade student from Saitama in Tokyo. She was entered into the Idol of
Justice competition by her mother and older sister because of her natural
super strength. She acts as Tokyo's last line of defence against Demon Seed
(and she sings too).
Chief Hattori
The head of the Special Operations Anti-Demon Seed section. He always wears
mirrored glasses. A charismatic, yet weird leader who brings at least some
measure of authority and decisive action to the Special Operations group.
Hattori, like all the members of the Special Operations group is based on
the friends of Assemble Insert's creator Yuuki Masami. Hattori is based on
Fukada Takashi, the editor of the manga digest, Shonen Sunday, who paved
the way for Yuuki's debut.
Taka-san
Seems to be the second in command at the Special Operations office. He is
the only one of the group that does not wear glasses. Like the rest he
seems to be a strange guy. Out of the entire group he seems the most
genuinely concerned with Maron's welfare. He is based on Izubuchi Yutaka,
the talented mecha designer for Patlabor.
3 Guys
These 3 make up the rest of the Special Operations group. The normal looking
one is the only sensible member of the group. He is based on Kawamori Shouji
the famous mecha designer who worked on Superdimensional Fortress Macross.
The other 2 are just plain stange. The drunk looking one goes the entire
series without saying 5 words. He is based on Yoneda Yutaka who worked on
Patlabor. The small one with the squeaky voice is a pervert who seems to be
obsessed with Maron. He also seems to like pornographic videos. Strangely,
he is based on Yuuki himself. Needless to say these guys don't display much in the way of
personality and go the entire series without being named.
Professor Shimokawabe
The small professor who developed the combat armour for the Special
Operations divisions. He seems to be a strange old man who wants to prolong
Maron's conflict with Demon Seed.
Professor Demon
The bearded leader of the Demon Seed organization. He seems to have no clear
motives behind his actions aside from a desire for money. Professor
Demon's first name is Kyozaburo.
Demon Seed Minions
The masked servents of Professor Demon aid him in his crime spree. Only
some of the Demon Seed minions operate the powered-suits which are the
source of the orginization's power.
Sonoba Kagiri
At the start of the series she is Japan's most popular idol singer and goes
on to win the Newcomer's Award. She is particularly well loved in the
Special Operations Anti-Demon Seed office.
Yoshiko Mikawa
The first candidate in the Idol of Justice audition. She
is good looking and able to bend an iron bar but she is passed over because
she looks too muscle bound when she uses her strength.
Hideo Oikawa
The rice-eathing contestant #7 from Hokkaido.
Yokomori Ryouzou
A TV accordionist who is the victim of one of Assemble Insert's many puns.
