Assemble Insert is a 2 part OVA (Original Video Animation) series. The first part was released in 1989 and the second in 1990. This series fits into the comedy/parody genre of anime but has action and musical elements as well. The series parodies 1980's anime shows as well as Japan's idol culture. Assemble Insert centers on super strong 8th grader Namikaze Maron who is drafted by a government agency to become an idol of justice and to fight against the power suited bandits of the Demon Seed orginization.

Note: This page only covers the animated version of Assemble Insert. A much longer manga (comic) version exists but it is not covered by this resource.
