X/1999: Prelude

Kamui Shiro is just an average high-school sophmore with a big 'ol chip on his shoulder. But that's understandable, considering he had two leave his home suddenly at age nine, only knowing that it had to do with the death of the mother of his two best friends(Fuuma and Kotori Monou)and then six years later, he witnessed his own mother die in a fire, telling him with her last breath: ~

Ka-mu-i.... Go to Tokyo....Your destiny...awaits you.
~ And so the story begins. Kamui, following his mothers words, returns to Tokyo to seek out his destiny and search Tokogashi Shrine for the mysterious "sacred sword" that his mother had told him about. He ends up being a transfer student at Fuuma and Kotori's school. Kotori, who has been having prophetic dreams about Kamui reterning home, is estatic to see him, but when she approaches him, he tells her to not get involved with him. All this time, there are mysterious people watching Kamui. He gets in a fight with a man named Saiki, and almost kills him, until Arashi *YAAAY! KICK ASS!* appears and taked Saiki away before Kamui can kill him. There, we meet Hinoto, preistess/prophet who can't speak, hear, or walk, but always stays in the basement of the diet building, dreaming of the future. Lately, she had been having dreams of the end of the world, and a person called "Kamui": the one who holds the world's future... Meanwhile, Kamui just jumping from building to building(levetation powers, dontcha know?), but bleeding profusely from his fight with Saiki. He, ummmm..."crashes" in a deserted lot next to his old house, where Fuuma finds him, and carries(or drags..whatever) him back to the Togokashi Shrine(Oh yeah, that's where Fuuma and Kotori live. Their father looks unusually suprised to see Kamui bleeding and lying in their hallway*o.O*Eventually, Kotori is left alone to take care of Kamui (awwwwww) but she's worried, because after Kamui turned away from her, she collapsed in the stairwell (because of her weak heart) and while she was unconcious, she had a strange dream of Kamui with one Angel wing and one Dragon wing, and he was "breaking" the earth. Then the scene switches to a guy sitting on the roof(guess who! It's SORATA-CHAN! MY MAN!)who is watching the two, until an evil-looking guy appears(Yuuto, the coolest villan of them all!), So Sorata sets up a stange "psychic barrier," which reveals that he and ol' Yuuto are both involved with the end of the world. And the book ends with Sorata and Yuuto preparing to attack.
