X/1999
story synopsis
For all of you that don't know, there are already Four volumes of X/1999 (or in Japan, it's simply,"X") released in America; the first is "Prelude", second is "Overture", third is "Sonata", and the forth is "Intermezzo". All I've done so far is a summary of "Prelude," But I DO want to do character summaries for all of the people in the series (but there are still some characters I still have to re-search). For now, here's a basic overall synopsis of the story......

Over the past years, the Earth has been so polluted and destroyed by human beings, that it's nearing the point of never being restored. The Seven Seals, or "Dragons of Heaven", are fated to fight to prevent the end of the world and the destruction of Mankind. But, there is another group; the Seven Minions, or, "Dragons of Earth", who want to kill off the human race so the Earth can be healed and reborn again, but the earth will continue to decay. The final battle is destined to happen on a fated day in 1999. Two different futures are possible, and only one man, Kamui Shiro, can make the difference. Kamui returns to Tokyo after his mother killed herself in a fire (but you don't learn she killed herself till later in the story) he meets up with some of the Seven Seals (Arashi and Sorata! YAAAAY!)Who take him to the basement of the Diet Building to seethe Priestess Hinoto. There,she tells him that the name "Kamui" has two different meanings: "The one who represents God's will or.....The one who hunts God's will. The fate of the Earth rests on Kamui's shoulders. In the end, he chooses to become one of the Seven Seals so that he could protect his childhood friends, Fuuma Monou and Kotori Monou. But, it is revealed that Fuuma is actually Kamui's "twin star," and so his fate is to fill the opposite position of Kamui. In other words, had Kamui chosen to be a Dragon of Earth, Fuuma would become a Dragon of Heaven. But, since Kamui choose to become a Dragon of Heaven, Fuuma suddenly becomes a Dragon of Earth, and he turns into this ultra-evil guy. It's really sad, because now Kamui has to fight one of the only people he would die to protect. And that's not all. After Fuuma beats the crap out of Kamui, he goes on to kill his own sister, Kotori, by plunging the Sacred Sword into her, which causes her to be torn apart, dying the same death as their mother, Saya.
