Going to the Philippines was such an enlightening experience. I enjoyed visiting. My trip to the Philippines was my mom's birthday present to both me and my dad. What a present, huh?!
Most of the time, I went shopping at the Shoe Mart malls. SM Bacoor was the closest, so, I did most my shopping there. I also visited Harrison SM and SM South Mall. I must've been an obvious looking balikbayan because everywhere I went, people were staring at me. I guess it's my height (5'7") and my light brown hair. Not to mention my hazel contacts. hee hee No wonder, huh?! *^_^* Well, they couldn't get anything past me, kasi marunong ako tagalog, at saka marunong ako mag salita. Naku, lagot sila! hee hee
I stayed at my auntie's house in Kawit, Cavite. We were lucky that my auntie had transportation because the traffic in the Philippines in terrible, especially around Christmas. When I was in Tanza, Cavite, my way of getting around was by tricycle. The roads were so bumpy, sometimes I thought I was going to fall out.
My dad celebrated his birthday in the Philippines. Since my birthday was a couple weeks before his, we combined his and my birthdays. It was so nice. My uncles and cousins decorated the Alamo compound with palm fronds and bamboo.
