Lured by a fleting glipse of a phoneix. Miaka Yuki is led to a dusty room in a dark coner of the National Library. There, she and her best friend, Yui Hongo, discover a mysterious book that, as they begin to read, suddenlly pulls Miaka into an ancient, mystical China where magic is real. Miaka learns that she is destined to become the legendary Suzaku no Miko-the guardian of the Konan Country. However, first she must overcome the hostile inhabitants of this strange new world and then she must face the cruel twists of fate which turn Yui Hongo into a feared enemy.

My first reaction to this series was "Great, now people all over the world can learn how to say 'I love you' in Chinese." Yes, you do hear a lot of sarcasm in there. But I had to admitt I grew to love the story. The story is also intersting, although if you actually look at my prefrences for animes, you probably wonder why I would fall for an anime that got so much romance in it. But just because it is a love story a lot of the time does not mean they do not have great fights. I'm still working on the character profiles and so far, only Suzaku's people are done since I'm having trouble getting good pictures for the rest of the cast. If you have any good FY pics, go to my picture trading station to see if you would like to trade that pic for some that I have. Or you could just give it to me for free :).
