Once
upon a time young prince met a girl and told her to never lose her strength
and courage. He gave her a ring that bore the rose signet and the
young girl decided to make it her goal to become a prince just like the
one she met. As the young girl, named Utena, grows up she transfers
to an elite high school were she meets several people that also have the
rose signet ring. Utena eventually defends a girl named Anshii and
ends up fighting a duel against Anshii's abusive boyfriend. Utena
ends up winning the duel and as a prize she becomes engaged to Anshii.
Utena discovers that Anshii is the "Rose Bride" and duels are fought for
her between all the kids how have the rose signet. The students that
have the rings form the student council and practically run the school.
The student council receives letters from the mysterious "Ends of the World"
telling them to duel for the rose bride and the victor will be given the
power to revolutionize the world.
