Comparative Religion
"Nor would he instruct you to take angels and prophets
for Lords and Patrons. What! would he bid you to unbelief after
you have bowed your will (to Allah in Islam)?" Quran
3:80
- "One Day He will gather them all together, and say to
the angels, "Was it you that these men used to
worship?"
Quran 34:40
Why compare religions at all ?
According to our view the most important aspect is that, it
serves the purpose of understanding one's own religion better
by compare and contrast. To do this we have to study other
religions as well, so that we can compare our religion with
other religions and find out in what way Islam is supreme to
other religions. With this knowledge we can explain Islam to
others in a better way, giving various comparisons according
to their respective religion. Muslims are instructed in the
Quran to respect other religious beliefs, and specifically
those who are Ahl-al-Kitab (People of the Book).
Secondly to others it serves as a means to practice their
debate skills.
Lastly (for non-muslims) it serves as a means to confirm
their own faith.
