Un niño es grito, es silencio,
es llanto, es letra, es sílaba
y es palabra que finalmente
se convierte en voz.
¿Qué es un niño... ?
es movimiento, es concentración
es medir, es calcular, es golpearse
y por fin caminar.
¿Qué es un niño... ?
un niño es sobre todo ojos
ojos por los que entra el mundo
ojos que descubren
ojos que cuestionan
ojos que se asombran
y mirada que nos habla del futuro.
¿Qué es un niño... ?
no lo sé, no lo sé
pero cada vez que te veo
aprender a caminar
que intentas articular palabras
que me miras con tus redondos ojos
cargados de futuro...
tengo una rara sensación
de miedo y esperanza.

it is movement, it is concentration
it is to measure, it is to calculate, it is to fall
and finally to walk.
What is a child... ?
a child is above all, eyes
eyes through which the world enters
eyes that discover
eyes that question
eyes that are surprised
and a look that speaks to us of the future.

but every time that I see you
learn how to walk
that you try to articulate words
that you look at me with your round eyes
loaded with future...
