The Bel Canto Italia School of Opera is in its fourth year. It was founded with the purpose of provide excellence in the training in Opera, offering studies leading to acquire a solid vocal technique to students from all over the world, with the unique opportunity to learn this art its birthplace. It has been a task of no small dimension!. The planning expectations, hopes and dreams. The selection of teachers, students, pianists, etc. as well as the day to day operation. My own teacher, the great tenor Franco Corelli was the first to advise me of the times ahead, including the hard ones. My working hours had an average of 12 hours per day dedicated to school. But after all it was and it is still worth the effort.

Students must be aware that when choosing BCISO to initiate or continue their vocal studies, are coming to a different culture and to a different discipline. The students must be willing to contribute with an open mind towards their new studies, the new approach and new environment. The student will find absolute personal dedication at BCISO/Opera Italia in the course of their training.

BCISO's philosophy is to expect from the students full dedication while learning and a life of relaxation when out of school. This approach will allow the students to manage their own time for personal growth in a place that has culturally and historically SO MUCH TO OFFER. Few students have not been able to confront these changes, while many have enjoyed and profited from the experience of learning in our school.

It is my purpose to provide with best technical vocal training that any student can acquire and give the opportunity for students to realise what is involved in the training of an opera singer, thus, they can make their own choices for their future.
There are no words really to emphasise this aspect...The student's future rest in decisions such as with whom should I study, when, where, how many times a week, and where is the right pace for training in order to become an opera singer. It is your right as singer or student to obtain all the answers in order to give yourselves a good chance and opportunity. Students should be aware of factors such as talking only one lesson a week or starting Repertoire before ready to confront this task are completely against the student's interest. No professional singer will come out of one lesson per week training. Programs involving vocal training once a week or with immediate participation of Repertoire lessons, must be considered amateurish and a serious lost time and efforts and even risking their voice's health.

One of the first steps to be taken in order to evaluate our potential is to face reality, a difficult option, mainly when is directed about ourselves. I am, very clear when it comes to the opinion about a voice its training and future projection under the different circumstances, thus, I become antagonising by condition. But there is nothing more important  than the well being of students, the reality of their condition, whether excellent, good or bad, and as singer, a teacher and a director, I must take decisions, and I do, always on behalf of my students. I consider a great responsibility to have the vocal and personal future of a person being trusted to my knowledge and experience.

This perspective has allowed a generalised prejudice, but I work, fight, learn and keep on teaching, offering, giving. Mostly, I have learned from my mistakes and from the mistakes of other as well, I may say that of all the things I have improved and never stopped growing in spite of the different experiences, is the quality of teaching.
