Welcome to my page for poetry and inspirations . . .

Many of my friends compose creative writing, and I'd like to take this opportunity to share it with you.  I find it truly amazing how people go about expressing their feelings in words.  I believe it's a great talent that we can paint our emotions using media like music, words, visual arts, etc.  So enjoy . . . and don't hesitate to send me any pieces of which you are especially proud and that you think readers will enjoy.

*    This is an excerpt from Wherever You Go There You Are by Jon Kabat-Zinn, given to members of the Albany High School Honor Society 5/20/1998 by Dr. Willard Washburn, our principal.

*    Here is small sampling of Emily's writing, from a page of notes during calc 1997-1998 . . . she didn't want it, but I really like it and find it thought-provoking.

The link to our calc class page has a picture, and these are the people:
me, Emily, Chris and Kelly, Dan, Cat, Edin, Lisa, Matt, Ian, Wally.
That class was a lot of fun, especially because so many of my good friends were in there!
Some might disagree with that opinion because of the coursework
and issues with our teacher... but hey, it's all good. :)
Unfortunately due to scheduling issues, Dave and Heather were in the next class.

*    An anonymous piece, written by a very good friend of mine, quite uncharacteristic of that friend's usual outlook, and therefore all the more insightful, I find. I'm not quite clear on when it was written, but I think it was towards the end of high school - 1996-1998.

*    Poetry I wrote and got published in the literary journal for our high school, Inkblot: Masala. It has a really awesome background in the book, a sketch of a woman's face drawn by Linh Thi. (1998)

*    Written in a fit of rage by me. (1998)

*    A poem created by freshman roommate, Karen. (1998, I think)

*    Two pieces written by a fellow Fredonia music ed major Adam:     first    second

(I'm not clear on when they were written)

  *    Another anonymous poem . . . but probably not about what you might think.

*    "Being Human," written by KiTTy cAt, esteemed poet of Tufts University. :) (1998)

*    "Inspired," a five-stanza, rhyming, lyrical poem written by Matt Adams to an old
friend of his in 1995. Matt is a friend of mine I met through debate in high school.
