Dancer's Voice
Here is where your voice of artistry may finally be heard. This is the one page that I have no part in writing. YOU are the writer. This page is entirely made up with your stories (fact or fiction) and opinions. You'll have a chance to give advice and share hints as well. To add anything, simply write to me by clicking below. So read on and have fun!
Story...
Horror Turns To Dream
a true story of a dancer just like you
There was no doubt about it... I wasn't getting any better. Last year I was at the top of my class, aced every step, struggled little with anything. But sometime between now and last year, something had gone wrong. I just stayed where I was. That wasn't so bad... until my class mates began to pass me. Then I began ruining every step, and I felt the eyes of everyone watching me in shock. Even the snob of the class, Carmen Vaun, began to improve and stick her nose up higher. I began to idealise last year. I watched previous tapes over and over again, screaming through my mind, "how did I do it then?" Every night was filled with tears, and every night the harder they flowed. The truth was out... I was in a RUT.

Finally I got tierd of watching and waiting for a miracle and took action. Tears weren't helping me, that was for sure, so I did something. I made a list of my weak points and strong points. And then I took a new look at class and worked in a new way. I set goals for the year, and worked toward them. And you know what? I triumphed! I'm back at the top of the class, and enjoy ballet again. And after really thinking I know what I had been doing wrong: I was so buisy looking back, I couldn't look foreward.

So here's a lesson for anyone with my very PREVIOUS problem. Don't look back when you get in a rut. Keep looking foreward and think things through differently. :-)

In Need Of Help...
I want to get my legs
stronger so I can ho-
ld my position in ad-
gios. But when I lift
my leg I feel the mu-
ciles at the top of my
thigh. I don't want to
get monster legs!

I'm having the worst
time convincing my
parents to send me
to a more proffesio-
nal school. My tea-
chers say I show a
lot of promise. Da-
ncing is my dream!
So how can I make
them understand?
-Edison
I was really disapoi-
when everyone in
my class moved up
except me! I asked
my teacher and she
said it was because I
hadn't mastered my
pirrouete's. Any tips
on mastering them?

Advice To Help...
To Edison........
you need to have
a heart to heart
talk with them.
Tell them your
going to do this
proffession with
or without their
help, but with it
will be much easier
and help you do
your job better so
you'll make more
money.

To Myra.........
practice just
coming from
fourth to posse
a few times. Go
through the arm
motions. Think
of swirling up.
Press your weight
down on
your supporting
leg. Press down
on the shoulder
over the leg your
turning on. For
multi turns open
your arm for a
quick moment for
power.

To Susan.......
Susan! You have
to feel that muscle
to lift your leg!!!!!
-Jamie T.
To Susan.......
don't worry.
You do feel it
there some, b-
cause muscles
pull and don't
push. However,
you want to ro-
tate from your
inner thighs as
you do it so you
get a sensation
of using that
muscle after aw-
hile.
