Have you ever noticed how loads of the websites listed in all those trendy (ho hum) newspapers/magazines either don't exist any more or they're not that great when they finally appear on screen? I'm not saying cybercafes are like that, but I usually get the same feeling of disappointment when I visit one. Anyway, in the search for a nice place to surf, I've been to these (a mixed bunch)...

Cyberia Hanover Street, Edinburgh

#2.50 for half an hour

A bit of a hike out of the centre but it's quite pleasant, even got a non-smoking area. AND you get nice big screens and a pleasant view of the street outside

Cafe Internet North John Street, Liverpool

#2.50/30 minutes

Nice and spacious with quite a few people in but plenty of room for newcomers too. My only complaint is the speed of getting connected (but that might just have been cos it was a Friday afternoon)

Cyberia Whitfield Street, London

#3/half hour (trust dahn sarf to be more expensive)

It's usually a bit too full for my liking - have to wait for a free computer. But otherwise... pleasant, and nice staff too

Cafe Internet Buckingham Palace Road, London

#3 for 30 mins

A pleasant cafe, just over the road from Victoria station. I was the only one using the internet though - aarrggghhhh

McNulty's Internet Cafe Window's Arcade, Newcastle

#2 for half an hour plus #15 a quarter registration (ho di hum)

Don't know what to make of it: sometimes it's oh so cool, othertimes it's full of pesky schoolkids and people eating eggs and bacon
