    Laura Hillenbrand's Seabiscuit was the best book I have read in four years.  I read breathlessly through each race cheering Seabiscuit on. I learned about the life of jockeys and quite a bit about Bing Crosby. It was written so well!!.  
    Alice McDermott's Charming Billy was our book club selection for our July meeting.  This book seemed to spark a great deal of controversy.  We agreed to disagree about several things concerning this book.  It was an excellent book, though.  It seemed to me that it characterized Irish Americans quite well.
