Buddie finally accepted Bobbie, she was fun to play with during the lonely hours Brett & Karen were away, but Bob needed a little training. Afterall, there is a pecking order in the Morphis household and as head nester Buddie doesn't dispense entitlements easily, and it appeared Bob was just taking them! Bob just needed a little talking to, a few directives, so Buddie took Bob under her wing.
First and foremost on the "birgenda" (bird talk for agenda) was the fuzzy green pup tent looking thing that hangs in the beautiful wrought iron cage bought for Buddie by Grandpa Pete. Buddie liked playing with Bobbie, but was very reluctant to share "her bed" and for many nights poor Bob was forced to sleep outside this wonderful cozy fuzzy green thing that hangs in the beautiful wrought iron cage bought for Buddie by Grandpa Pete. It was evident Bob really liked this fuzzy green thing because she was always trying to sneak into it...reality was...Buddie wasn't sharing it and she'd chase Bob out! Bob retaliated...at dinner time she'd eat faster, and more than her share...Buddie's share. Wherever Bob came from she had learned some mightly bad habits and Buddie needed to straighten that out!
Little by little, as the days went on, Buddie realized she was going to have to do something about Bob...some concessions had to be made...she had to, Bob was an eating machine, eating up all her food! So Buddie considered the situation and decided she was going to have to share that fuzzy green thing. She wasn't happy about it, but it seemed Bobbie wasn't just visiting. She had become a member of the Morphis flock, mom said, and so an agreement was struck by the two of them...Bob could stay providing Bob followed Buddie's rules, share the fuzzy green thing, share the food and do as Buddie said, and...oh...the top of the cage that Grandpa Pete bought for Buddie? That spot was reserved...and not for Bob! Life was going pretty good for the two little birds with beautiful iridescent green feathers and the beautiful red heads when dad and mom informed them they were going to visit grandma for the summer.
So mom & dad took Buddie & Bobbie aboard this big metal bird with huge wings and they came to visit grandma. Of course Bob needed to know the rules of grandma's house now. Boy, a bird's job is never done! So Buddie began telling Bob all about life at grandma's. Now there are certain things a bird does when visiting grandma's, for instance, eating fresh fruit for lunch, taking a nice warm bath, then sunning oneself in the afternoon sun on the window, drying and preening those beautiful green iridescent feathers. To get to the window, dad hooks Buddie's ladder on her cage and lays the other end on the window. Once lunch of fresh fruit was eaten, the bath done, it was time to preen in the golden sun that shines so warmly through the window.
Buddie climbed down from her cage to the ladder and began to waddle across to do that sun-in thing at the window. Halfway across Buddie noticed Bob still sitting like a green nudge on top of their cage. Buddie turned to her and said, "...'mon birdie...." Bob ran across the top of the cage, climbed down on top of the ladder and quickly waddled after Buddie to join her in the afternoon sunfest. There the two sat on the sill preening beautiful feathers of irridenscent green, then together they closed their eyes, snuggled close and basked in golden warmth, beaks facing west following the afternoon sun...life is good at grandma's.
P.S. Bobbie denies this story as being 100% truthful. She says she's going to have mom write the real story!
