"Buddie"

Do you have a parrot? We do, well actually our son does, and her name is "Buddie"...the bird's name is...our son's name is Brett, anyhow...Buddie is a very bright little bird, all 4 ounces of her, and she is greatly loved by everyone. Needless to say, with all this adoration, Buddie has become just a little...um...spoiled...so recently Brett realized Buddie had gotten just a little bit out of hand, fresh would be more like it and Brett decided to bring Buddie to her vet to discuss her "behavior".
The vet listened and said to Brett & Karen, Brett's better half or soon will be, "She's a brat!"...not Karen...Buddie! The vet advised, "From now on when you hold her and she begins to bite you, just shake your finger at her tell her firmly, "NO!" ...to Buddie not Karen. Well, Brett & Karen have always scolded Buddie to "Be good!" when she exhibits bad behavior and, of course, this is always said in a soft and loving voice, afterall Buddie is just 4 ounces and greatly loved.

So home the three of them went. As usual Brett sat on the couch to watch TV. Buddie climbed down her cage, went running over to the couch, climbed up and went running up Brett's arm to sit on his shoulder. As usual Buddie began to bite his ear so Brett raised his finger and was just about to try those new instructions the vet had given them when Buddie went running back down Brett's arm screaming at him, "BE GOOD! BE GOOD!" .....which leaves us wondering who really is in control....

Hope you like the Buddieflies! They're Buddie's favorite thing to watch from the window. She always says, "...oo-o-o pretty bird!"

Parrots are wonderful pets, but be really careful when buying a bird. Choose a reputable breeder who has bred, hand fed and raised their birds, ask your vet for a recommendation if you're serious about buying a bird. They not only cost a lot of money, but they live for a very long time. Check out their life span...some live to 120 years! WARNING: Some parrots are smuggled into the United States. They are caught, either drugged or stuffed into PVC piping, put into suitcases and brought into the country by cruel people for the sake of money. Most don't make the trip...85% die in an inhumane way. Please buy from someone you know who is a breeder...your pet will be a better pet due to the hand raising.
