![]() As it stands, the roof is now being fixed. It's only half done, but that's okay! As long as it finally looks like a roof. Before it looked like a crappy roof, then when the first guys did it, it looked like a toddler had gone up on to the roof to make patty cakes. Now that the repair has began, by a new set of tradesmen (from the same company) the roof is starting to look better. It has been a bad week. Firstly with the THREDBO land slide dissaster and then with the Israel bombings in the market place. Shocking!!! My heart goes out to all the families. I also came close to loosing someone I love. It's important to keep good humoured, even in the tough times. My mother had an accident last week with the car. The car is a total write-off, but she came out with a laceration on her leg and neck and back pain. Mind you, her car was a 1976 model Holden Kingswood that had seen better days. They bought the car when I was four. It has gone through 4 resprays, numerous mechanical repairs, being stolen 3 times etc... I reckon that car had nine lives. It was about to have it's tenth, as my father saw another Kingswood chassis and was about to transfer the new compressor, air conditioner etc.. to the new chassis. So basically the old (written-off) Holden (General Motors) Kingswood, would have had a face lift, even though the organs were droopy! At least my mother came out of it unharmed. She was very shaken up, but thats normal. She was crying the entire weekend, so I had to explain how it wasn't every day you nearly kill yourself (I think I was as tactful as MR BEAN, just kidding!) and that it hadn't really 'hit' her (pardon the expression) that she'd had a potentially life threatening accident. My mum explained how she had the sun in her eyes. Apparently she was making a right hand turn and someone opposite her was also making a right hand turn, and the car behind the one making a right hand turn, came out into the left lane and hit my mum. So when my mum looked, it was clear, but when she turned, the overtaking car hit hers. The Kingswood took out the other car's headlight. Needless to say, my mum who is a carer, needs a car to get to her clients. So now my parents have began to search for another car. I feel my mum needs a strong reliable automatic car. I think I will be going car shopping on the weekend with her. My dad was really badly affected by the accident aswell. Not only did he loose a member of the family (the Kingswood) but it also hit home, that he could have lost my mum. He was more distressed than my mum and was actually almost unbearable to talk to. It was as if he was talking gibberish, he was very glingy with my mum. At least he is almost back to normal. I finally got my insurance, so that I can begin setting up my Acupuncture business. I am going to send out flyers and letters soon. I have all the equipment already. It's READY -SET- GO!!! My cats have been mated, but it is still to early to know if they are pregnant. Their morning sickness is very hard to pick up. I think 'Squirrel' is pregnant, because she hasn't gone on call again. Here is a recipe for 'PEAR CRUMBLE"
