On Being Poe-eticly Correct

often times i ponder
and sit and often wonder
on the many things i know

and in my magic stupor
i purchased at a 2-for
i feel like i am poe

for in a world of clever
mores that are never
i learn the truthful lie

and yet i sit and ponder
the world and all its wonder
to see what little i do know

and like a sooty raven
knowledge i too am cravin
to ease my mournful woe

so i shall knock and gamble
through live's halls i shall ramble
to lay to rest to sleep to die

but as i find me nodding
no longer am I prodding
to learn why life is so

my head rests on a pillow
a napping weeping willow
as dreams out my window go

Dedicated to those seaking their dreams in life and coming to the realization that they don't all come true ... no matter how much we want it.
