COMBINED.
It affect over 2 million people; mostly
Latinos, Native Americans, African Americans and Asians.
1 out of every 185 Americans has it.
It affects mostly African Americans,
Latinos, Asians, and Native Americans.
Women are 10 to 15 times more likely
to develop the disease than men.
The disease is called LUPUS.
What IS Lupus
That is a very good question that the general
public does not know it should ask. However, those of us who live
with this disease or have friends and loved ones that suffer from it, know
the desperate needfor information, support, and understanding. And
so, this ring has been created. The Lupus Awareness Ring connects
sites filled with information about Lupus. Some
of the sites are virtual libraries of good medical information about the
disease. Others are personal homepages, ecounting personal
stories of dealing with "the Wolf". So
please, take the time to travel around our little ring and learn about
the disease that is often called "the
great imitator".
If you have a site that you think should
belong on this ring, please click here
to submit the page for consideration. If your page is accepted, the
ringmistress will send you the necessary code and graphics for your site.
Acceptable sites would include: general information
on lupus; a personal story; a story about a friend/loved one.
