The secret of life isn't in what happens to you, but what you do with what happens to you.
-Norman Vincent Peale

Welcome to the Tough Cookie Webring. I searched high and low for a webring that fit into this specific category, and when I found out that did not exist I decided to create it.

There are so many strong females on the web today and that makes me proud to be a woman. Women seem to put their Heart and Soul into the websites they create, telling stories of survival against incredible odds. This is not a male bashing site by no means. I am just promoting the tough and strong women of the web. These women might have disabilities or are caring for a loved one with a disability. They might have suffered the agony of pregnancy loss or lost a loved one. They might be survivors of abuse of any kind, or a nasty divorce. They have survived tragedy, learned from it, and now these strong, powerful women are out there on the Web or in their community telling their story and helping others in the same situation.

Let's see your stuff. It does not matter if you're a housewife or a business woman, if you're black or white, large or small, rich or poor. You have strenght, you are a survivor, a tough cookie. The ladies in this ring encompass the many walks of life and even though we're all different, we can still turn to each other for strength and support. This webring is open to all females who feel that their site and themselves display these qualities. These sites must be pleasant to the mind, and warming to the soul.

How to Join

In order to join I ask that your site meets the following conditions.

I ask that your site be at least partly about surviving tragedies or hardships of any kind, and it must be inspiring and intelligent. It does not matter if it's plain or it's explosive. We are all different and unique so let's show the world.

No male bashing.. No sex sites... No pornography...

Cannot Be A Page Of Links

Pages with the idea of trying to change people's beliefs to another religion are not allowed into this ring!

The Ringmaster reserves the right to include or refuse inclusion in this webring to any party.

Submission to The Tough Cookie Web Ring does not automatically place you on the Ring. Your page must be approved by the Ringmaster before you are placed on the Ring.

As you are surfing the net and you come upon a strong female site...someone who, in your mind, would qualify as a Tough Cookie, ask her to join. Spread our word... and let's show the world what we are made of.

No nudity, sexual content, reference, explicit or distasteful pictures or language will be tolerated at all, and will result in your removal from the queue without any notice or explanation.

Skin Disorders Webring

My child has a skin problem called Epidermolysis Bullosa.
This is a long fancy name for a condition of the skin where a certain protein is missing from the top layer of the skin called the epidermis. Because the skin is missing this protein, blisters develop easily. This can occur after a slight bump of the skin, or can occur on the bottom of the feet from walking too much. Many of these blisters are painful, but most people with EB get used to them over time. My child will often wear bandages to protect the skin and allow healing underneath.
This condition is not contagious. You cannot catch anything. Unfortunately, there is no cure for EB right now,
but many doctors are working to find help for EB. If you wish to donate money or to find out more about EB, we would appreciate your contacting the following national organizations which are looking for a cure.
Thank You for your concern.

I don't know of any disease that children face that causes such long term suffering. You know, you have children that have things that take their lives, but, this disease, they suffer emotionally and phisically for a long
long time before they either die or...well, and actually in the severe forms that's what happens.
Lynn Anderson (President of EBMRF)

Tough times don't last, but tough people do.
