if you know what's good for ya

tattoo machine

five

five
fighting for space
yet lonely for others to join their ranks
red, black, green, blue, brown and gold
my thoughts appear through my naked skin
inked into permanent residence upon my body
most hiding beneath from other's eyes…
but the youngest bold

it began when
tradition stood up
claws bared

and continued
as tiny wings
still damp
unfurled

three sides… one strand
twisting and turning
behind me

two weapons
joined in friendship
unrivaled

the young one
an uncertain cross to wear
openly

angles

a niche
in which to fit
has a point
yet...
smooth edges
don’t comply
glance
off one
then another
searching for
matching sides
feeling for
according curves
hoping for
entwining fingers
and finding
angles

kikoi kikoi

safety

i want to be swallowed whole
consumed and held within
your arms your heart
your life your body
accepted in the warmth
and wrapped in the senses

will you tell me what you want?

to make you happy
to make you free
to make you strong
unafraid of vulnerability
no longer alone
and accepting of friendly empathy

legirons

beneath

rolling mist
closes over me
grasping
gasping
far from the sea

pressing words
deep within me
begging
needing
somehow to be free

shackles and chains
of unknown origin
holding me
blocking me
from the goal

i seek

brown-eyed susan

brown-eyed girl

i just don’t learn
comfort escapes me
where i turn
those blue eyes aren’t free
make me burn
but it just can’t be

… maybe brown eyes from thee?

Shade

In my place I stay
Where you say
And no further
To cross is to lose
Perhaps forever
To remain is to be lost
So slowly
To feel requires two
I am one

I fade
A sliver
A great distance
Increasing
A voice echoes
Not heard
They go
Fingers bleed

I want
The more
The less
I need
The love
The pain
I love
The one
The only

I give
The same
Always

sun moon

for Her

You love me and I love you back
I love you and you love me in return
I fall and look for you
You step away from me
You are hurt and I reach for you
You are too far and further still you move
I cannot seem to hold on
I cannot make you stay
Do you wish me gone?
Do you wish me not?

Would you have it all undone?

Do you wish me not?
Do you wish me gone?
I cannot make you stay
I cannot seem to hold on
Your are too far and further still you move
You are hurt and I reach for you
You step away from me
I fall and look for you
I love you and you love me in return
You love me and I love you back

A Trick of the Light

Go to the place in me where she is
Shut the screaming behind the door
Don't look, push it back
Cracks have formed where none were allowed before
All is fine.. or will be
She's still there, just not the same
But she Is still there
And I, I am not bleeding
It's a trick of the light...
We’re all deceived

blade blade

Cessation of Pain

There is a knife in my chest
Leave it there awhile
The hand of love placed it
Quaking at the removal
Desperate for the cessation of pain
Yet fearful insentience may follow
Turning, yearning for impossibilities
I cling to the blade...

The Constant Companion

It’s truth
It’s reality
It may be obvious
It may be obscured
It’s steadfast
It’s certain
It may be costly
It may be free
It may rage and surge
It may whisper and weep
It comes in many forms and degrees
Pain is the constant companion

Senseless

Sense
A straight path
Always found around the bend
Of confusion

Confusion
Muddled senses
Which linger within the essence
Of form

Form
Merely pieces
Meant to make a whole
The result
Incomplete

Broken

Why won’t the pieces fit ?
Whole in the beginning
The picture now shattered
Images
Enough shards to salvage
Or just one to maim?

A Whisper

With soft lips
She draws me near
The sweet taste
A need created
Her gentle touch
A desperate craving
Whisper my name
That I may feel
Deep inside
Your alluring laughter

Teardrop

One single tear
A finger finds
Hands try to hold
It all inside
Escape the bonds
Shivering and shaking
Within is without
Despite the struggle
Intimate pain
Secrets made plain
For those who care to see
Me

connection

they
sit
back to back
each
facing their world
arms o u t s t r e t c h e d in welcome
yet
fearful hands
hold at bay
tightly
one
time
day
courage
they’ll
trust
turn

pebbles

Pebbles

pebbles on separate shores
at her feet worn smooth
within her hands sharp edges
and facets to feast the eyes
silk forgotten…
or pockets line?

a new relief

whispered misunderstandings
are shared ‘round
a momentary reality
of harsh feelings
and borrowed reflections

fleeting uncertainties
are the result
of snapping illusions
forming pictures…
as yet unintelligible
