HIS ADOPTION

I can now handle the rejection from those who refuse to accept me because I know that God has adopted me.
May we all experience His Adoption.

If you came here via the link on My_Adoption page, then you recognize the previous sentences. The fact that I was "physically adopted", allowed me to better understand the change that Jesus Christ made in my life when I received Him as my Lord and Saviour.
Let me explain:

When I really had no family to speak of, a family, that was already established, made room for one more. I was given a new name and made to feel as if I had been naturally born into that family. I had all of the privileges of the other children. I was also disciplined, not any more or less than the other kids were. I had a place were I could feel secure, with hope for my future. I never doubted the love of my parents, because I knew the price they had paid for my adoption. It was a comforting thought that I had someone who would stand up for me, no matter what may come.
Now, let me compare this to what Christ did for me:

The Bible says(in Ephesians 2:12,13)that we were without "hope and without God in the world:" We were once separated from God, by a separating wall of sin. God provided a way, for all who chose, to be able to enter His family. There is always room for one more in God's plan. He promises a new name(Rev. 2:17)and will forget that we were adopted into the family. This new name the Bible speaks of is(Rom. 3:22)the "righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe:" Another word for righteousness is the word justification. He promises to treat us just-as-if we had never sinned. The reason He can overlook our past is because He now sees us through the perfect, sinless life that Jesus lived for us. He will never throw our past sins in our faces in order to shame us. He will discipline us with his perfect love and in His infinite knowledge. He will always provide exactly what we need, when we need it. We can know that our future is secure and that no one can ever remove us from the family because He says(John 10:28)that "neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand." The greatest thing is knowing how much He loves us. He demonstrated how much when (Rom. 5:8)"while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." Because we know the price of our adoption, the sacrifice of His son on the cross, we can always be assured that He loves us. We can be certain that, regardless of how many times we fail to obey Him, He will(Heb. 13:5)"never leave" us "or forsake"us.

Perhaps now you can more fully understand why Christ means so much to me. Christ died(Gal. 4:5-7)"To redeem them that were under the law, that ye might receive the adoption of sons. And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father. Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ."
