I love animals. I grew up on a small farm adjacent to the Pisgah National Forest near Asheville, NC. As a boy I often hiked into the forest and saw deer, rabbits, snakes, wild turkeys, squirrels, frogs, birds, and fish living in their natural habitat. They were my friends.
In addition to the wild animals we had many animals around the farm. Everyday my pet collie would go with me here and there around the farm. We also had cats, a cow, chikens and pigs.
Animals were here on this earth before man appeared on the scene. My science books tell me that man evolved from lower forms of animals. Millions of years ago, we all had a common ancestor. Slowly but surely the links to our past are being discovered.
