OREGON COAST BIKE ROUTE BY TANDEM RECUMBENT

August 8 through 16, 2002, we toured the Oregon Coast Bike Route on our tandem recumbent bicycle. We took it easy averaging about 40 miles a day with lots of stops to see all the magnificent scenery and attractions. We camped and Yuppie camped (motels) about half and half. We enjoyed the comfort and ease of riding the Rans Screamer with its panoramic view of the scenery ahead. We met lots of interesting bikers from around the country and were fascinated by their tales.

That's a lot of gear. It's a challenge to get it all on a tandem recumbent. Under seat panniers help. Note sleeping bag between the yellow and red panniers and sleeping pads behind seat. Food is in blue bag behind rear seat.
