John
Temesi, Sir Tool - Year I
Kinesiology at the University of British Columbia
in Vancouver, British Columbia. However, John has quite a habit of
dropping out of school, so hopefully he'll stick it out for a little while in
BC! John has half of a Forestry degree from the
University of New Brunswick, and just returned
from Hong Kong where he was teaching English at an all boys high school. John has never
finished high school, but trivial things like that have never stopped him
in the past. The "Tool" went on a Rotary Club Exchange to Denmark in 1995-96,
and in 1996-97 participated in the Katimavik programme. By the way, he
also holds the Chief Scout's, Queen's Venturer, and the Silver Level Duke
of Edinburgh's Awards, and due to his service to Scouting John was
awarded the
Reginald K. Groome Memorial Scholarship by Scouts Canada in 1997. John
has also become an avid triathlete, participating most recently in the Malaysian
and Japanese Ironman competitions. I guess he's found his sports niche.
One thing's for sure - it isn't in cross-country skiing.
Why we call him "Tool"
John has always been the group tool. The only problem arises when he tries to lead us on a hike (we generally don't listen to him, and then we get lost.)
