  When is COMPUTER SECURITY DAY?.

COMPUTER SECURITY DAY is November 30 although several organizations extend it to a whole week.  Some companies observe it at a different date around November 30 in order to combine it with other related activities in their company.
When did COMPUTER SECURITY DAY begin?
Computer Security Day began in 1988 when the Washington D.C. Chapter of the Association for Computing Machinery's (ACM's) Special  Interest Group on Security, Audit, and Control (SIGSAC) wanted to bring extra attention to the issues of computer security. The final business day in November was originally chosen for Computer Security Day so that attention on computer security would remain keen during the holiday season when it might otherwise become lax. The day was changed to November 30 in 1997 in order to eliminate confusion which arose about the exact date due to different work schedules in the many countries where COMPUTER SECURITY DAY is celebrated.
