The Perfect Storm

By: Therese

Bolts of lightning flashed numerously in the dark sky as sheets of rain fell from the monstrous clouds. One could barely see three feet in front of them, making it virtually impossible (and impractical) to drive. Yet there was Brian, the lone driver, LOST, on the flooded roads, with his not-so-pleased friend, Allie. They had been planning a trip back home to Kentucky, but Allie had wanted to travel by plane, while Brian had the “brilliant” idea of taking a road trip.

“Oh, come on Allieeeeeee, puh-leeeaaseeee!” Brian pitifully begged. “It’ll be so much fun, you’ll see!” Then, Brian pouted and batted his bright, gorgeous ocean blue eyes at her…his one lethal weapon…the one Allie could never fight.
‘Damn those eyes!’ Allie cursed to herself. ‘If it weren’t for those, then I’d be sitting comfortable in Kentucky, all nice and warm in front of the fireplace, sipping hot chocolate. But noooo, we’re now lost in this fucking storm…’ Allie glanced at the dashboard, ‘…and we’re almost out of fucking gas!’
“Brian,” Allie said, trying to catch his attention. There was no reply. His eyes were focused on the road, his knuckles white from clutching the steering wheel too hard.
“Brian,” Allie started again, this time with more volume and less patience in her voice. Still no reply…
“BRIAN!!!” Allie screamed.
“WHAT?!” Brian yelled in return, turning slightly toward her. “Yes, ALLISON, I KNOW we’re lost, I know we’re stuck in this storm! I’m trying my best to drive carefully while finding that damned highway, so save your fucking lecture!”

Allie blinked, mouth agape in shock. He had called her Allison…something he had only done twice in all the time he had known her (both of which he was royally pissed at her)…AND he cursed…TWICE!
She quickly recuperated from shock and glared at him. “Brian, I was just going to point out that…”
The inevitable happened: the engine stopped, and the motion of the tires came to a halt.

“…we’re almost out of gas,” Allie finished.
Brian slammed his fist on the wheel and cursed again, running his hands through his soft blonde curls. All he had wanted was to be able to have an enjoyable vacation, to have fun taking a road trip with Allie. Because of his high-profile celebrity status, he rarely got to spend ample time with her, so this trip seemed to be an ingenious idea. They would have spent half a day bonding, singing along to the radio, telling countless stories… just plain having fun.
But of course, it had to be their luck that the antithesis of what Brian had wanted had occurred: Allie had gotten car sick somewhere near Tallahassee; Brian had mistakenly eaten a bean burrito for lunch…with the both of them miserably entrapped in the tiny Beamer, in the middle of bumper-to-bumper traffic in Atlanta; and now of course, the aggravated duo were lost in a rainstorm somewhere in Tennessee…with the car void of gas.
Allie leaned back in her seat and let out a sigh. She had known from the start that a road trip would be a terrible idea. But it was Brian’s large pleading eyes and his genuine interest in spending quality time with one another that made her surrender and think otherwise…mind you of the minor detail that she had been in love with him for the past year.
She turned to look at him, and all previous anger and annoyance directed at him dissipated, as she saw him extremely disappointed and regretful. Lighting flamed briefly, but long enough for Allie to spot a small log cabin twenty yards to her left.

She gently put her hand upon his shoulder. “Hey Bri, look. There’s a little cabin over there. Let’s just go in there, wait for the storm to pass, and call for a tow truck to bring us to the nearest gas station.”
He looked up to where she pointed out the cabin and nodded his head in agreement. “Yeah, it looks abandoned, so we should be okay.” He turned toward her. “Allie, I’m really sorry for blowing up at you like that. It’s just that…”
She interrupted, “Hey, don’t worry about it. I know that wasn’t your true intention.” She paused, then chuckled. “You know, I would’ve done the same, probably worse.”
He laughed in response. “Yeah, you would’ve definitely done worse. I’m just terrified thinking of what you’d do.”
“Hey!” she retorted, smacking him lightly on the arm. “You were supposed to disagree with me then!”
“Yeah, yeah,” Brian said, playfully rolling his eyes. “Let’s get to the cabin before anything worse happens.”

On the count of three, the two jumped out of the car and bolted across the road, laughing hysterically as they splashed through puddles like little kids. They got to the front porch, out of breath and soaked to the bone. They both began to shiver, and Brian started to think of a way to get into the cabin…until he got a really good look at Allie. Sure they were both drenched, but Allie was wearing a white shirt that was now almost transparent. Transparent enough to see that she was wearing a white lace bra. Brian gulped. Transparent enough to see exactly HOW cold she was. He quickly looked away.
‘No, bad Brian! Look for a way to get in!’ He subconsciously looked back at her chest. ‘No! Stop it! Don’t look there! Look for a way in!’ He stepped away from her, thinking he would be able to focus more if she was not within proximity, when he tripped over a flower pot.
They winced as the pot crashed to the floor. “Oh good one, Bri,” Allie said, rolling her eyes. “Just wreck the damn place, why don’t ya?”
Brian was about to grumble a come back, until he spotted a shiny silver piece of metal where the pot once stood. He reached over and picked it up. “Aha! A key!” he proudly exclaimed. He jumped up, placed the key in the keyhole and was about to turn the knob, when Allie stopped him.
“Wait!”
Brian looked at her in confusion. “What? What is it? Something wrong?”
Allie hesitantly looked around. “What if…What if someone’s in there? They could think we’re breaking in. Or even worse…there could be some serial killer in there!”
He smiled at her. “Allie, I highly doubt anyone is in there right now. There’s no trace of anyone living here now. And if someone does live here, we’ll just explain that our car broke down, and we need to call for a tow truck to come get us.”
There was still doubt in her brown eyes. “What about a killer?”
He grinned again. “Don’t worry, I’ll protect you!” he proclaimed, flexing his muscles.
She glared at him. “Brian! Stop being funny! I’m serious here!”

He stopped smiling and stepped closer to her, placing his hands gently on her arms. “I, too, am serious Allie. I will protect you. I will keep you safe. I promise.”
The intense look in those soulful irises and assuring words both managed to warm her heart and run a chill down her spine…something only Brian Littrell can do.
He continued, “Now, if you’re not comfortable or feel safe enough to stay in here, we can go back to the car. It’s up to you.”
She lingered her gaze into his eyes, and she knew she could trust his words. She knew she would be safe anywhere, as long as he was there beside her.
“I feel safe here with you,” she whispered, closing her eyes as his manly scent intoxicated her.
He smiled softly and kissed her forehead. “Good, I’m glad you do,” he replied. “Let’s get you inside before you freeze to death.” He opened the door and slowly led her inside.

The interior of the cabin was actually larger than anticipated. The living room consisted of a fireplace and various pieces of furniture, most of which were covered by large white sheets. To their left, there was a small kitchen with an even smaller dining area. To their left were two bedrooms, separated by a bathroom.

Allie was still shivering, so Brian took that as his cue to start up a fire and to get them situated comfortably before it.

Moments later, they sat in front of a blazing fire, warming up with mugs of steaming hot tea in their hands. Brian glanced over at Allie, and his breath was taken away. Her clothes were still damp, her hair was a tangled, matted mess, making her appear as a drowned rat…yet she still looked beautiful. She peacefully gazed into the fire and the features of her face glowed as gold speckles seemed to dance in her chocolate brown orbs. She turned to look at him, as if she felt his stare, and his cheeks reddened when she caught him. ‘Brian! Get a grip! She’s just you’re friend!’ he silently scolded. Even so, he felt his heart swell and beat rapidly, clearly battling any rational and logical thoughts.

“Brian,” Allie began with concern, “is something wrong?”
He shook his head. “Um, no, I was just thinking, umm,” he paused and looked around, his eyes landing on his wristwatch, reading 2:18 AM. “I was just thinking that it’s kinda late, and uh, we should get some sleep and then call for a tow truck in the morning.”
She nodded. “Sounds good. Hopefully, the storm will pass by then.” She unhurriedly got up, set her mug on the coffee table and stretched her arms over her head, her shirt sliding up her torso. Brian saw this and resisted the urge to reach up and run his hand across her smooth, tanned stomach. Allie leaned back down to Brian and gave him a hug. “Night Bri,” she whispered, giving him a peck on the cheek. He muttered his goodnight as well, and she leisurely retreated to her room.
Once safe in her haven, she sprawled across the large bed and let out a yawn. Exhaustion swept over her, yet she still remained alert, her mind wandering in circles, mainly in thoughts of that sexy blue-eyed man, most likely asleep two doors down. How badly did she want to invite him in her room, curl up against him, and pour her heart out to him. How badly did she want to hear his sweet words of endearment whispered softly in her ear as he would caress her and love her like none other. How badly did she want for him to need her as much as she needed him. But alas, everything she ever wanted, ever needed, would only come true in her dreams, never in reality. Brian could never long for her the way she longed for him. She was only his friend…and sadly enough, that was all she ever would be. This thought brought tears to her eyes before she drifted into a deep slumber.

Brian tiptoed quietly to her room and cautiously opened the door and peaked in. He smiled. There laid his sleeping beauty, tranquility washed over her delicate features. His heart swelled once again, and it was then that he realized he was in love. He blinked and looked away. ‘Me…in love with Allie??’ he questioned in surprise. ‘But she’s just my friend…I can’t fall in love with her!!’ Of course, he was only fooling himself. He knew, deep down, he had been in love with her for the longest time…it was just that all this had dawned upon him that night.

He retraced his steps back to his own room and stretched out over his bed. Again, he smiled. “I’m in love with Allie,” he proudly stated aloud. ‘Question is,’ he thought silently, ‘does she love me?’

At that moment, lightning flashed with such brilliance in the sky, and cracks of thunder boomed loudly in the distance as rain continued to pour down. And at that moment, his door creaked open, and Allie poked her head in.

“Bri?” she called out.
“Yeah?” he answered back, curiosity written across his face.
“Ummm…can I stay in here with you?” she asked rather sheepishly. “The storm’s kind of freaking me out.”
He smiled in understanding, scooted over, and patted the space next to him, visibly inviting her in.
Lightning struck, followed by rolling thunder, causing her to squeal and run to where Brian lay. She got in the bed, curled up against him, and buried her head in the crook of his neck, as he wrapped his strong, muscular arms around her and rubbed her back in comfort.

“Shhh, it’s okay sweetie. Everything will be all right. I’m right here,” he whispered soothingly, instantly calming her fears and worries. She lifted her head up and studied his alleviating irises. And she saw pure love reflected back at her, making her own heart soar.
He placed his hand over her cheek and she closed her eyes, savoring his gentle touch. He leaned in toward her, closing his eyes, and was awarded with the sweetness of her full lips. She eagerly responded by compassionately meshing her lips with his and embracing her arms around him. She felt his tongue begging for entrance, so she parted her mouth, groaning as his velvety tongue massaged against hers.

He let out a low growl and shifted his body so that he was hovering above her, never breaking that powerful kiss. It was only broken when the two needed to catch their breath from the intensity of the kiss, and it was then that they both know that they could never get enough of one another. Brian placed a trail of light kisses, starting at her right temple, tracing along the curve of her jaw, down the slope of her neck, inciting a sultry moan as his tongue flickered over the right spot. He kissed his way back up her throat, up to her awaiting lips. He crushed his lips against her for the second time, as love, hunger, lust, and want surged between them.

Allie prolonged the passion filled kiss as she ran her fingernails down his chest, causing a shudder to erupt from his body. She broke their kiss only to lift his shirt up above his head, discarding it somewhere across the room. She was about to reach down for his belt buckle, until he placed his hand over hers, stopping her from continuing that action.
He chuckled. “Whoa, easy there Allie. We’ve got all the time in the world. Let’s take it slow.”
She meekly smiled. “Sorry, I guess I got kinda carried away?”
“It’s all right babe. I’m getting carried away, too,” he replied, adjusting her shirt so that he could kiss sensually across her collarbone. He began unbuttoning each button, placing kisses over the newly exposed skin along the way. He, too, discarded that blouse clear across the room, and then paused to admire the swell of her breasts, restrained by that white piece of lace. He quickly removed that as well and leaned down to take one in his mouth, carefully nibbling and swirling his tongue around the soft piece of flesh.
Allie let out a soft cry in ecstasy. “Oh God, Brian! More!” she pleaded as he switched to her other breast, giving an equal amount of attention. He looked up from where he was kissing to see the fiery passion burning in the lustrous depths of her eyes.
“You want more, Allison?” he taunted huskily, nipping at her hardened nipples.

She nodded, unable to speak in this aroused state. With that carnal look in his eyes, the way he would suckle at her breasts, and the obvious hunger for her in his voice was enough to make her wet with desire. Never in her life had she wanted and needed anyone like she wanted and needed Brian. Never had she loved anyone like she loved him.
Brian abandoned her chest and kissed down her abdomen. “Here?” he asked, already knowing what she really wanted. She answered with a moan, but shook her head.
“No? How about…” he paused as he licked just below her navel, just above the waistband of her shorts, “…here?”
She moaned again and weakly replied, “Lower.”
“Your wish is my command,” he responded, unbuttoning and unzipping her shorts. After he removed them, she was left before him, squirming in nothing but a pair of white, lace panties. Slowly and teasingly, he used his teeth to remove the provocative material down the long length of her legs, making her squirm and wither even more. Once he rid her of that, he began licking and nipping at her right knee, along her inner thigh, and stopped at her heated core. He smirked back up at her as she groaned in disappointment as he began the same treatment to her other leg.
“Briaaaannnn!” she whined, wanting more and more.
“Patience, my dear Allison,” he replied, finally arriving where she had wanted him in the first place. He slowly licked along her wet opening while rubbing her small, sensitive nub with the pad of his thumb.

He continued this oral bliss while Allie was left moaning in delight. She felt her insides melt as Brian concentrated on pleasing her. Her inner walls began to contract as an orgasm was about to approach.
“Ohhh Brian!” she panted. “Please, I’m about to…oh God…I…need you…inside me!”
He stopped suddenly and hastily fumbled to free himself of his restraining jeans and boxers. Once he did so, his bulging erection sprung free, ready for release. Allie’s jaw dropped, but was very pleased with what she saw. She tenderly ran her fingers down his smooth shaft, causing him to shudder and groan once again. She cupped her hands around its width and slowly began to pump. His eyes rolled back in apparent pleasure, encouraging Allie to continue stroking him.
“Allie! Oh baby,” he moaned. “I need to be inside you!” Then, he pushed her hand aside and positioned himself at her awaiting entrance. He stopped to look into her eyes for silent assurance, to be fully certain that this was what she wanted. She nodded her head fervently, urging him to go on.

And so, he did. He plunged into her narrow crevice, growling loudly as he entered paradise, her slick walls tightening around him. She screamed his name as he began thrusting delicately into her, taking his sweet time in loving her. Beads of sweat rolled across their bodies, coalescing with each other, just as Brian and Allie were finally doing- coalescing into one.

Their love and passion thrived as Brian kept thrusting, and as Allie wrapped her legs around him, continuing to meet up with each thrust. Finally, Allie came with a loud cry. “I love you, Brian!”

Brian concentrated on his release, pounding much more vigorously into her, and he ultimately did, pouring his seed deep into her. He collapsed onto her, their breathing erratic. They laid there, entangled in one another in true bliss, with Allie rubbing his back and Brian stroking her hair. He lifted his head to look at her.
“You really meant it, Allie?” he asked, tears brimming in his eyes.
She smiled and kissed him lovingly. Their tongues danced with each other, caressing the insides of their mouths. She pulled away and looked deeply into his attentive gaze.
“Of course, baby,” she said with a smile. “I love you so much. Always have, always will.”

He responded with an ear-to-ear grin. “I love you, too. I, too, always have, and I always will.”
The two lovers soon fell asleep peacefully into the early morning hours. Outside, the storm may have died down, just like they had hoped, but inside, their love began to blossom for one another, just like they had longed for
