CHAPTER 2 – GOSSIP….
~ LATER THAT NIGHT ~
“Oh hey Nick” Arora smiled as Nick stood poised on the doorstep of the girls beach house.
“Hey Ro, Bianca in?” Nick inquired
“God you guys are sick you only saw her like 5 hours ago” Arora laughed gesturing for Nick to come in
“Shut up, I went home to change” Nick responded grabbing Arora into a playful headlock
“B! Come get you’re ugly mug boyfriend” Arora shouted
“You two are like worse than little children” Bianca laughed walking in form the lounge
Nick dropped Arora from the hold and embraced Bianca, kissing her passionately on the lips.
“Um, you guys have fun” Arora muttered looking around for her sketchers
“You going out?” Bianca inquired her arms wrapped lazily around Nick
“Yeah, I'm gonna go for a run” Arora replied slipping on her shoes and starting on the laces
“You don’t have to”
“You guys can have some time alone, threes a crowd” Arora smiled
“Come on Ro, stay” Bianca pleaded
“No really, I was gonna go anyway”
Arora flipped her long dark hair into a ponytail and headed over to the door.
“I got my cell if you need me” Arora called as she walked out the door closing it behind her
“You think she should be going out there?” Nick inquired worried
“No, I don’t, but she does it like EVERY night, security would freak if they knew but she wont listen, and when she’s not running on the beach she’s down in the gym, it’s like she’s trying to block everything and everyone out” Bianca sighed flopping down onto the couch
“She takes Delilah with her though?”
“Yeah, sometimes”
~ AT THE SAME TIME ~
Arora ran down the sand her feet gouging into the once untouched beauty of the beach. The tears were knocking at her eyes, but she refused to grant them escape holding them back with everything she had. Delilah ran along beside her, her four pours running to the same beat.
The breeze whipped up her ponytail flicking it around her face, she ignored it, her face strongly set on her path. Her heartbeat quickened as she tried to escape the reality she was living – she was running to escape if only for a while to feel free.
~ AT THE SAME TIME ~
Chastity slipped into the comfort and warmth of the steaming hot bubble bath, her hair was piled loosely on her head, small pieces falling into the water. The sound of the ringing cordless phone beside her, yanked her roughly from her day dream.
“Hello?” she answered lifting the phone up to her ear
“Chas? It’s Tatum” Tatum announced cheerfully
“Oh Hey T” Chastity replied
“Gee don’t sound too enthused to see me” Tatum joked
“Nothing personal, it’s been a long day”
“What’s been up? I feel so outta it way up here”
“New vid, that sorta thing, it’s an awesome idea, there’s like this big diamond web thing, that spins around and we like stand on it, and break free, you kinda gotta see it”
“How are you and AJ?”
“About that, on and off” Chastity sighed playing with the Vixen ID bracelet identical to the one they all wore.
“You guys have a fight?”
“Not really, but we just don’t have IT anymore you know? It’s not like it used to be”
“The you gotta find IT” Tatum laughed “Shit call waiting, hold on a sec”
Tatum flicked to the other line. After about 2 minutes she returned.
“Chas, can I call you back? It’s about a movie deal” Tatum giggled excitedly
“Yeah sure no sweat” Chastity replied
“Ring AJ, just suck it up and do it okay?”
“Yeah fine, talk to you later” Chastity muttered as she hung up the phone
“Yeah right, like I'm gonna call him” she mumbled to herself as she sunk back down I into the bath
~ AT THE SAME TIME ~
AJ flicked through the car mag, which only barely was holding his attention. His mind was elsewhere – on Chastity mainly. He was so sure that he loved her, maybe that was the problem, he loved her too much that it had him doing strange things. It was a well known fact commitment wasn’t something AJ was particularly known for. He wasn’t one to hold down – Chastity knew that, so why did she get all bitter when he decided to not stay?
“Women” he muttered to himself
He mumbled something to himself before picking up the phone and dialing her number. It begun to rung, but before she could answer he slammed the phone back down – he’d do this tomorrow, in person.
~ AN HOUR LATER ~
Arora sulked through the door, her body slightly aching from the run, her mouth dry with the wind. She walked around into the kitchen grabbing a cup from the cupboard.
“Nice run?” Bianca questioned, looking over the breakfast bar from the lounge
“Yeah, it was great” Arora mumbled grabbing the cold water from the fridge.
“Arora, can I ask you something?” Bianca questioned removing her legs off Nick’s lap and strolling over to where Arora was.
“Sure what?”
“What are you doing?”
“Um, drinking some water”
“I don’t mean NOW, I mean with everything”
“What’s that meant to mean?”
“It means, you’re running on empty Arora, for god sakes you go out for a run practically everyday and when you don’t, you’re down in the gym”
“So what? So I'm been fit?”
“Have you looked in the mirror lately? You’re a god damn twig, you’re surrounding yourself with this Arora because you’re two afraid to let anyone else in”
“That’s crap”
“Oh is it? When’s the last time you rung up and talked to your family?”
“Low blow Bianca, you know they don’t want to speak to me” Arora responded slamming the empty glass into the sink
“So? Why should that stop you? Tell me when’s the last time you went out anywhere, besides for your run?”
“I'm not going to discuss this with you Bianca” Arora muttered walking out of the kitchen
“Because you know I'm right?” Bianca announced following Arora around the wall
“Come on B, just drop it” Nick pleaded from the couch, clearly seeing where this was going
“This isn’t your business Bianca, stay out of it” Arora replied coldly
“I'm making it my business, you cant let Brian do this to you, yes he hurt you, but you have to move on Arora, you have to get past this”
“Brian has NOTHING to do with this Bianca”
“How could he not? He broke your heart, and you still haven’t gotten over it”
“Where do you get off Bianca?”
“You’re my friend Arora, and that’s why I'm telling you this, you can’t keep going on like this, because you’re only going to hurt yourself”
“You don’t know what you’re talking about”
“When are you going to realize Arora? You can bullshit everyone around you into thinking your just peachy, but sooner or later the truth is going to hit you real hard” Bianca called as Arora stormed down the hallway slamming the door behind her
“God, Bianca, you should have just dropped it” Nick commented
“I'm not going to see her slowly fade away like that”
“She’s probably just upset, you know with Brian coming to see her today and all that”
“What?”
“You didn’t know? He saw her today, when I came to pick you up his car was there, I assume he was there to see her”
Bianca flopped back down onto the couch, sighing loudly.
“I was too harsh on her huh?” she inquired as Nick sat down beside her
“You thought it was best, maybe you were wrong”
“I guess I just hate seeing her like that” Bianca sighed.
~ AT THE SAME TIME ~
“There’s a write up thing in there, page 42” Alika smiled chucking Tatum a magazine
Tatum flicked quickly to page 42. The show had been going for about 10 months, but she still loved to read what people had to say. She skimmed down the page, until she found what she was looking for than began to read,
The new hit drama, crossed with teen angst TV show, called Play Girls is heating up cables ratings. The show revolves around Dana Morgan, played by Tatum Lee (once formally of the all-girl band Vixen) and Chelsea Nichols, played by Christina Ryan, who discover the joys and downers of living in plush suburban LA. All in all the show itself provides a rare and believable insight to the ‘scene’ associated with youth today. It’s a hard-hitting and truthful tale that both adults and teens won’t want to miss. The actors themselves do a terrific job in portraying believable characters, though that may be because the directors chose in fact real teenagers, something not always seen in TV shows today.
“Ha! I'm believable” Tatum smiled placing the magazine on the table
“Vixen are in there too” Alika responded, her voice getting softer
“Oh really where?”
“You might not want to read it, it’s just stupid gossip”
“Where?” Tatum demanded flicking through the magazine
“Page 12”
Tatum flicked over to page 12 and began to read.
Speculation has it, even though it’s coming up one year when the hit pop sensation Vixen announced that they would be loosing one member, that the reasons aren’t as simple as they seem. And inside source has revealed that there were conflicts in the group right from the word go.Sources say that Tatum Lee, now a hot new comer to the acting world, would pull rank on the group, and on more than one occasion her and Chastity Silver would come head to head in an all out ‘bitch-fight’ the source carried on to say that the group would suffer if things were left the way they were, so Tatum was asked to leave, and after the fact was offered the job. Controversy runs high as all Vixen members declined to speak to us on this matter, and Miss Lee could not be found, so as to give statement to this rumor. Also within the group, gossip mouths move in whispers of some hot pop relationship, Bianca Taylor, the youngest member of the (now) trio, has been seen out and about with the hot blond pop singer, Nick Carter (from the Backstreet Boys) when both parties were questioned about this, they declined to answer saying that they preferred to keep their private lives private until a time came when they were ready. I guess we’ll have to wait and see.
“How can they print this shit? They didn’t even bother to contact me” Tatum gasped
“Don’t worry about it, they don’t know what they’re talking about” Alika responded switching on the TV
“God, some people, they wouldn’t know the truth if it was shoved up their ass” Tatum announced throwing the magazine onto the table.
