His hand slipped down the fly of her pants, undoing each button of her jeans with a flick of his fingers. They said nothing, nothing needed to be said, everything they wanted to say was spoken through the kiss they shared. Her hands slithered under his loose top, running across his chest blindly and with ease.
The distant sound of a barking dog startled the two. Arora sat bolt upright, as if the dog had yanked her from an illusion. Her breath was soft and fast, as she looked across at Nick. He smiled softly, incasing her head into his hands, silently he leant in, touching his lips subtly against hers. Pulling away, he delved into her eyes with his own, searching for something he wished to see in them.
Arora's lips quivered at his touching lips, longing for their comfort but frightened by the realization of them. His blue eyes searched her, desperate and needing. They sat under a blanket of night silence, neither could find the words to explain the world they had created.
Arora swallowed the lump in her throat, she wasn't sure what felt right and what felt wrong, or even if there was such a distinction. The lines seemed blurred, the feelings encasing her heart, her head saying one thing, her heart contradicting it.
"There's something in your eyes, that's telling me to stop" Nick whispered grazing the side of her face softly with his palm.
Arora looked down, as tears softly slid down her cheek.
"You'll never love me like you love him, will you?" Nick continued to whisper
Arora closed her eyes, allowing warm tears to escape into the night. Nick's hands slid down her jaw, resting gently on her chin. Lifting her face up to meet his with a tender hand, he continued,
"What do you feel?" he remarked into the dark night
"I don't know" Arora whimpered, it was the truth, she felt so much, but at the same time, she felt so little.
Her tear soaked eyelashes flicked up revealing her sad green eyes. She bit her bottom lip softly, as the wind blew her hair across her face, casting the tears from her face.
Nobody wants to be lonely
Nobody wants to cry
My body's longing to hold you
So bad it hurts inside
Nick brushed her hair back softly as their eyes met, truthfully and honestly. Nick felt his heart well up inside, his face showed signs of pain, because it was there in her eyes he saw the truth, he saw the reality he'd been trying to avoid for so long. His hand fell beside him as a dream came crushing down.
He saw it all, the pain in her eyes, through the tears he saw the truth, he saw that she loved Brian, and that despite him wanting her so bad, that would never be, that would never work. It was like trying to make something right, that could be never anything but wrong. Brian and Arora, were meant to be together, no matter how much that ripped at him, no matter how much that hurt, he knew that - he saw that in her eyes. He shook his head slightly, as a tear slid down her face, followed by another as he backed away.
"Its true, isn't it? You and Brian are meant to be, you love him more than you could ever love me. We'll never have what you have will we?" Nick spoke hushed
"I'm so sorry" Arora remarked through her tears. Nick was right, she did love Brian, even though there in front of her was someone who'd given up so much to love her, he'd laid everything on the line for her, he'd made his love for her, something Brian didn't do. Deep down she wondered if she was trying to subconsciously hurt him, the way he had hurt her, or maybe it was just now, she truly understood what love was. Staring at the face that had given up so much to be with her, she knew the words he spoke were right, there was something there, something between them they couldn't explain, maybe no one could ever explain, but whatever it was, it wasn't what she felt for Brian.
Nick leaned in, brushing his face against hers he delicately kissed a tear from her cheek, before standing up.
"It's alright" he half smiled "Your destiny isn't me" he choked backing away from her as she knelt lonesome on the sand.
He wanted to stay, he wanted to hold her, but deep down he knew he couldn't that he could never give her what she needed, that despite the feelings he felt, it wasn't meant to be.
He turned around, and took a breath, walking away would be the hardest test he would ever have to face, but he had to, for both of them, that bight he had to walk away, and never look back.
Arora watched as he turned to walk away, she wanted to call him back, she wanted to be with him, now and forever. But she knew that sometimes you need to know when to walk away, he was doing that, he was walking away, and she had to let him.
I wanna feel you need me
Just like air you're breathin'
I need you here in my life
Don't walk away, don't walk away
Don't walk away, don't walk away, no
Nick's feet slid through the sand, it seemed like the longest walk of his life, but he continued, footstep by footstep, the tears melding into his skin, and shining in the moonlight. With each step, the pain grew, but with time he knew it wouldn't hurt so much, and that through it all, he was doing the right thing.
Arora watched him till he disappeared over the bank, and like that she was alone again, in the unforgiving silent night, she was alone, with only a simple breeze that wrapped its way around her shoulders the only thing around.
Imagine if it were Different....
