For Filipino scale modelers like us, Bert Anido was an icon beyond compare. Not only was his scale model collections so vast and overwhelming, but his favorite topics were Philippine Air Force(PAF) aircraft,  a scale modelling topic drowned out in the world of high-tech US, Russian and other first world aircraft and their corresponding decals.  Yet, Bert tried his best to come up with models with appropriate Philippine markings, as seen  below, these models came out very well.  This is a small tribute to a man who tried his best to uplift the hobby os scale modelling among Filipinos by his passion and commitment through the  early  IPMS-Philippines, and his links in the PAF by taking pictures of their aircraft and marking scale models out of mere photos. Interestingly, IPMS-Philippines will hold the first Bert Anido Cup on the occasion of Bert's birthday this November 27, 2003 , with the topic of,  what else, any PAF aircraft! To Bert. where ever you are, may this little tribute bring that infectious smile of your which we would never forget...
