SUMMERTIME III |

A Roamer I'm sure we'd all like to spend some time on. |

Here she is blasting across Lake Erie |

Built in 1961, this Deluxe 35 foot Roamer was originally named "Thara." She spent most of her time on Lake Michigan owned and maintained by a doctor who only relinquished her in 1992. Shown here with its newest owner, Mark, she's been carefully renamed and repowered with Crusader 454s (always the 1st choice in gas powerplants). She still sports her original 3KW Onan generator (rebuilt) and teak decks! (A $300 option in '61) |

Here's her original motors - Lincoln 431s - powerhouses in their day (Hey, don't laugh, I've still got one in my '61 convertible). These two probably generated 300-320 hp apiece with gobs o'torque. Not particularly thrifty gas-wise however. |

Inside, she's all mahagony and looking pretty spiffy. We especially like those parquet floors (original?) and wonder what kinda stereo system is lurking behind that starboard bulkhead. |

A color TV and wall clock keep the crew happy and on time below. Now that wall plaque must be the original bill of sale, eh? |
