Creature Feature 2
Happy July everybody! Can you believe we're closer to the end of the year than we are to the beginning!? God is taking us through another year with lots of things happening all around us. I'd like to mention a couple of dates and invite you to come if you can and also to keep us in your prayers. Our trio, Kindred Hearts, will be singing on July 18th at the Valdese Family Fun night; we will be opening for the Hurley's. Another date is Saturday, July 19th; I will be leaving for the International Worship Institute for a week. God used my experience there last year in such a powerful way and I'm truly excited about what He has in store this time. The theme is "The King and His Kingdom." Melissa and Tina are going for the first time and we all are going seeking to recieve all God has for us! We will return on July 26th.
Well, I hope you had a great July 4th with lots of fellowship, fun, food, and of course fireworks! I want to tell you that we had a great time at the Valdese Trail of Faith Festival on Friday. We were really honored that our trio was invited to be apart of the celebration. It was also pretty cool that we got to sing a couple of songs with Potter's Clay; God really has gifted them! Everywhere you looked, most people were dressed in our patriotic colors red, white & blue. There was also a lot of focus and attention on our freedom and what it means to be an American. All the divisions of our military were recognized by a representative dressed in full uniform. Truly we are blessed b God to live here and even more so when you realize we didn't even have any say so in the matter. He chose each one of us to be here in this country and at this time in history. One thing that kept coming to my mind throughout the whole evening is that our true freedom actually comes through knowing Jesus as our Savior. He has come to proclaim freedom to the captives and release from the darkness for the prisoner's...Isaiah 61:...We can be a free American and still be a prisoner of darkness. We can travel freely across our country and still never be able to escape or outrun the emptiness deep in our soul. We may say our pledge of allegiance to the flag and sing about our liberty but, we will never be able to experience the thrill of freedom that our heart longs after and that our spirit was created for. Jesus is the way, the truth and the life. Thank God for making a way for us and that He wants you to experience freedom~His freedom~even more than you do! Put your faith, trust and hope in Him alone! He paid the ultimate price for my freedom and yours. Don't let His sacrifice for you be wasted.

Whether you believe it or not, each and every one of us are creative. Now I know some of you are probably shaking your head right now saying to yourself that you aren't. You may not think you have a creative bone in your body, but you do! Think about it: you were shaped and formed by the most talented painter ever known to mankind. Look at the magnificent pinks, reds, and orange he uses to color the sky during a sunset. What about the beauty of the carved canyons and rolling mountains? Only a skilled sculptor could pull those off! Think of the joy and wonder in the voice of the birds as they sing; wouldn't you like to hear the voice of the One who gives them their song or greater still, to hear the voice of the One who created the angels to sing of His holiness? Who could be more imaginative than He who gave an animal like a kangaroo, a "built-in" baby hauler, or the likes of a laughing hyena? From the tiny hairs on the legs of a spider to the hairs on our heads, only One could be so skilled, so precise and so creative and that is our Heavenly Father, the very one who created you. It only makes sense that we too then will be creative because He created us in His likeness. To be all that we can be in Him. Oh, and if you don't think God has a sense of humor, you should do what I did~go look in the mirror~you will crack up! I did!! God bless you and have an awe-inspiring week in the Lord!
