Thought of the Day:
Expecting the world to treat you fairly because you are good is like expecting the bull not to charge because you are a vegetarian.

Sunday Brunch

Another This and That

1. How do you like your eggs?

  • Usually in a cheese omlette or scrambled-lightly.

    2. What do you collect?

  • Dust bunnies. (Just kidding ) Anyhow, I have small collections of candles (not to burn....different shaped ones to display, like animal figures, etc.), seashells from differnt beaches I've visited, and musical snow globes.

    3. Do you carry a purse, backpack or briefcase on a regular basis? If yes, does it contain only the essentials or a whole lot of everything?

  • Purse. I change purses, depending on where I'm going. My small purse has enough room in it for ID, a small comb, change, lipstick, etc., while the largest one has everything except the kitchen sink in it. (lol)

    4. When is the last time you've read a book, put together a puzzle, built something or did something crafty?

  • I'm currently reading A Tangled Webb

    5. What was the highlight of your weekend?

  • Dinner at Bruce and Sherry's, consisting of steak, garlic bread, grilled onions and peppers, and Reeses chocolate peanut butter cake. After dinner, we watched Something's Gotta Give, with Diane Keaton and Jack Nicholson. We thought it was very good and very funny. I'll definitely recommend this movie.

Also, the return of the sun was a welcome site. It has been cool, cloudy and raining so often lately, we thought autumn was here. The temperatures have been way below normal, even as low as down in the 40's!
I need help. Yesterday morning, I woke up and headed for the coffee maker, as I do every morning. (Stopping to feed "Princess Tac", of course, since she'll trip you until you feed her.) Anyhow, the coffee hadn't been set for automatic brew, so I put the water, filter, and coffee in. The Tupperware coffee container was low, so I went to refill it from the can. I emptied the can (actually, it's not a can, it's the plastic container with side grips that all the coffee manufacturers are switching to.) Anyhow, I went to the refridgerator to write "coffee" on the shopping list, remembered I had taken it down when we went shopping on Tuesday, found paper, started a new shopping list, put it on the refridgerator and went into the bathroom. (Are you following me so far?) Anyhow, when I went back to the kitchen to get a cup of coffee, I realized I had forgotten to turn the coffee maker on.

Anyhow, I'm finding myself getting a little distracted and forgetting some little thing more and more frequently, and I need help! I'm asking myself why I'm getting sidetracked more and more often. Is it because I'm getting older? ...because I'm not getting enough sleep? ...because I'm under too much stress?

Like today, I went to water the plants on the porch, but put away some tools John had left on the floor first, then the washer stop spinning, so took the clothes out, started another load, hung the wet clothes outside on the line and then it hit me that I had forgotten to water the plants. Does anyone else go through this? Help, I need fixing!
But, anyhow, I had another yard sale last Sunday. This time with friends, friend's parents, and one of my neighbors. We had some strange customers though. One guy was actually switching price stickers! Another family's kids were picking up stuff and running off with it while the parents paid for other stuff. These same parents were trying to convince us that some of the stuff was in a free pile. Although we had a lot of stuff out there, there wasn't a free pile. Oh, well, I guess they needed it more than we did. If the weather cooperates, we're planning on doing this one more time before the end of summer. I'm not getting rich off of this by no means, but I am getting rid of a little clutter. One man's trash is another man's treasure!

Speaking of that, John and the neighbor stopped by a yard sale yesterday afternoon and purchased an AM/FM cassette stereo with turntable for a dollar. John's been looking for a working turntable so he could copy old records onto CD. When they went to pay for it, they noticed a pile of electronics. The guy said none of it worked and they could have it, if they wanted it. They ended up getting two VCR's and a DVD player for free. So far, they have fixed the DVD player.
My Dad gave us a pop up camper today. It's been in storage for a while, but it's in nice shape, all things considered. Thanks, Dad!
Anyhow, I have things to do, so I'd better go get doing them before I forget. (lol) Take care!

    Thanks for reading!
