As usual, the weekend flew by too fast, and here it is Monday again. At least we have a 3-day weekend to look forward to! I guess time would go by more slowly for me if I wasn't always keeping myself busy. Even during the winter, when it seems that life has come to a stand-still, I always feel I don't have enough time for everything I want to get accomplished.

Saturday, we stopped at a few yard sales on the way back from the bank. We ran into someone we hadn't seen in about ten years, and chit-chatted about people and things from the past. She couldn't believe that "little Kevin" was going to be a Daddy already. She had a canister set for $5, which I just had to have. The one I had was pretty old, and actually was a Christmas present from my former mother-in-law the year that Kevin was born. The new set was in perfect condition, and fit perfectly on the shelf under the microwave.

Sunday, we went to the Avon Flea Market, simply because we hadn't been there this year yet. On the negative side, it was very crowded, some areas were muddy, and some people had their dogs with them. (Explain why someone would take a dog to a flea market? To pick up more fleas????) I only ended up buying some produce and some odds and ends, but it was a good day, and they had a kettle corn booth, which was hard to resist, and made it all worth while.

We had Ashley and Kevin over for dinner yesterday. Actually, they were supposed to come out for dinner Saturday night, but something came up at the last minute. We ended up meeting Kim at Cracker Barrel in Henrietta for dinner Saturday. I had broiled chicken, fried apples, fried okra and hushpuppies. We had chili cheese dogs and roasted potatoes on Sunday night at home. (After eating like that on the weekend, I shouldn't have to eat for a week!)

Let me see, what else did I do this weekend, besides shop and eat? Laundry, cleaned, watered and weeded the flower beds and vegetables. The marigolds that I grew from seed are at their peak, while the petunias, violas and the other flowers are looking like summer is almost over. I planted the tomatoes and peppers late, so they're not ready for picking yet. I have a ton of green tomoatoes!

I canned most of the peaches, but never got around to making or baking anything with the rest of them. There's about 2 quarts left now. I listened to the Buffalo Bill's game Saturday night, and watched the delayed broadcast Sunday night. It was a very good game for a pre-season game. I worked on updating my other webpage, and did some web research for work ,and also some web research on post traumatic stress. I also bid and won my first E-Bay auctions. I bid and won a headset for the cordless phone and a gift for Kevin. Both items were listed as new and at very good prices. I hope I got a deal. If I didn't, I won't be back to E-bay anytime soon!

Tac had an upset tummy all weekend. I have no idea why. She would act fine until right before she got sick then be whiny for a while. I picked her some tall grass from the meadow after she tried stealing some out of the bunny's cage. She devoured the grass like she was a ravenous vegetarian tiger. I don't know what it means, but it made her feel better, at least.

A week from today is Ashley's due date. It's hard to believe that in a week, I could be a Grandma!!!! (Although I'm hoping for a nice Grandparent's day gift on September 7th.) Everyone keeps asking if I'm getting excited or nervous. I'm really not, although the thought of becoming a grandmother already is a distraction. At this rate, I could be a great-grandmother in my 50's, a great-great-grandmother in my 70's, and maybe even a great-great-great-grandmother in my 90's. Ashley and Kevin are as ready as they're going to be, I guess. Ashley commented how she was tired of being pregnant. She looks pretty good and very healthy. We were going over the baby guess sheets from the shower, and blue eyes, blond hair, and girl were the most frequent guesses, while date, time, weight and length were all over the board. My own guess is blue-eyed, blond boy on September 7th, in the morning, weighing 8 lbs 1 oz, and 20 inches long. Time will tell......
