Thought of the day:
"Women are like tea bags; put them in hot water and they get stronger."
- Eleanor Roosevelt
Does anyone have extra positive vibes they could give out? I could always use some, but I'm thinking of Stephanie right now. She's had more than her fair share of misfortune, and could use some positive energy now.

Last night, I couldn't get to sleep at all. (Yeah, I know, that sounds like a song lyric.) I've been cutting down on using the Ambien, because it's so pricey, but I can't sleep well without it. The few nights I've slept without it, I've tossed and turned and slept like SH**. Last night was even worse. We watched the movie, Titantic, although I've already seen it, then watched the late news. When I tried to fall asleep, a sheriff pulled in the driveway, and was shining a flashlight at the house. John went out to find out what was going on, and all he could find out was the tenant on the third floor had called, and the sheriff was looking for the right door.

Anyhow, after all that, we went back to bed, and John fell right to sleep, while I dozed off and on. It was too late to take an Ambien, or I would have slept in too late. I kept waking up freeeeeeezing, although I was under an electric blanket. I think I might have been reliving the freezing water scenes from the movie. Or, is this just a normal reaction for someone that is over 40?

I am so tired today! Hopefully, I'll sleep well tonight.

OMG! I just heard that California had an earthquake! At first, I thought John said that Florida had an earthquake, which was even more shocking. But, my friend, Amy, just went to California to visit relatives for the holidays. It was bad enough that they raised the terror alert, now this. Amy, if you are reading this, please e-mail me, or have someone e-mail me and let me know you are OK.

Today is the first official day of winter. However, it feels like it has been winter here for a long time already. I'm going to end this with some signs of winter from the past month or so:
