A person reveals his character by nothing so clearly as the joke he resents.
Georg Christoph Lichtenberg (1742 - 1799)

Today was what you would call a "typical" Monday. It was too cold when the alarm clock went off, so I dozed off while I was waiting for the heat to kick back on. So, here I am running late, and anxious about driving to work. John assured me that the roads would be clear, so off I went. I didn't even make it half way to work, and I ran into "whiteouts" where the wind was blowing the snow across the road. Before I made it to work, I slid through one red light, and by the time I got to work, I swore I was never going to drive again! When John called to make sure I made it to work OK, I insisted that I wasn't driving again until he got in an airplane. (He refuses to fly)

For some reason, the office was freezing this morning. (Maybe it had something to do with the outdoor temperature of 5 degrees.) My betta fish was listless, and showed no interest in eating, but he was still alive. I moved the fish to a warmer office, and used the space heater that our boss had brought in for Amy to use to warm up my area. It wasn't too busy since most of our customers were closed today, but I did have some irritating issues to deal with vendors.

By the time the office temperature had reached tolerable levels, I was having to deal with an issue of my son's, which I won't even get into now. I was at the point where I was considering calling my counselor to make an appointment today before I lost it. But , instead, I just tried to deal with things as best as possible with a positive attitude.

I had a co-worker (who, ironically, reminds me of an older version of my son) get upset with me, and, suprisingly, I took it very calmly. I was feeling like I was on pins and needles all day, and I should have been upset, but, I was surprisingly calm. (Calm before the storm, maybe????)

Anyhow, I worked late and managed to drive home without further problems. It was cold and windy, but driving wasn't as difficult as the morning commute. Tonight and tomorrow, they are forecasting plenty of snow, so I'm certain I won't be driving tomorrow. (That's a relief!!!!)

Hopefully, Tuesday will be a better day!

Take care!
