Isn't it nice to have an extra hour of weekend time? I feel like I've been in "catch-up mode" ever since we turned the clocks ahead in the spring!
It's sad though, to know that winter is right around the corner! I hate being cold! I hate having to brush snow and scrape the ice off the car! I do not like the feeling of being so cold that everything becomes numb. I prefer spring, when even though it may be rainy and muddy, at least everything is coming back to life after being in hybernation all winter. My husband prefers the cold, and his favorite season is the fall. I can appreciate the beauty of the color changes, but I would prefer seeing crocuses and tulips blooming, over the yellow, oranges and reds of autumn. (As I'm re-reading the above, I sound like I'm in a bitchy mood, but I'm not.)
Here's a shot of a fall horizon as I was driving Thursday. You'll have to do a view image to see the full detail of the fall sky and the trees which aren't at peak color yet. We just had our first real frost the other day, so it won't be long before the trees are bare, and the only green will be pine trees.
My good friend, June, took me out for a late birthday celebration last night. We went to Richardson's Canal House. Excellent food and service! If you're ever in the Pittsford/Bushnell's Basin are in New York, I highly recommend it. Bring plenty of $ though, since these prices are a bit steep, at least for me on my salary!
It's been a good weekend for me. Full of surprises and good times. I got a lot accomplished and the Bills won again! But, "time flies when you're having fun". Now that I'm over my initial "shyness", I have plenty to say, and not enough time to type it all! Tomorrow I'll be posting an entry about a new arrival to the family. Stay tuned....
