COOKBOOK FOR BUSY MOMS ON LIMITED BUDGETS I am a publisher who is looking for a new type of cookbook for busy, working moms, on limited budgets. My company will pay "mega bucks" for the "right" book. The book will be selected by my editorial board based upon the presentation "pitched" by the authors or their agent. We are looking for a book that includes the following (this is the minimum requirements): INCLUDE SECTIONS ON: 1. Nutritional guidelines (chart) 2. Food Pyramid (New Pyramid) 3. Suggested One month's Menus for toddlers, young children, school-age children (three sets of menus): See examples in the text. 4. Breakfast 5. Morning Snack 6. Lunch/Dinner 7. Mid-afternoon Snack 8. After-school Snack 9. Miscellaneous Recipes 10. Separate set of one week's worth of Brown Bag lunches for children in each age group (15 sack lunches): • Toddlers (5 lunches) • Young children (5 lunches) • School age children (5 lunches) AT LEAST ONE SAMPLE OF BROWN BAG LUNCHES ARE TO BE INCLUDED IN YOUR PRESENTATION. BRIEF DISCUSSIONS ABOUT: 1. The value of carbohydrates, fats, and proteins 2. The value of vitamins, minerals and water 3. Short discussion of the value of food supplements 4. Chart/list of food safety guidelines 5. Suggestions for Overcoming Feeding Problems with Children (Should be brief.) 6. Other valuable information for the busy mom COMPILE A MINIMUM OF TEN RECIPES IN EACH OF THE FOLLOWING CATEGORIES: 1. Breakfast food recipes 2. Juice or drink recipes 3. Sandwich recipes 4. Vegetable recipes 5. Meat or meat substitute recipes 6. Finger foods 7. Fruit recipes 8. Sugar free or low sugar desserts 9. Snack foods 10. Miscellaneous nutritious recipes The product developed should be designed and decorated in an eye-catching manner. It should be attractive, creative, original, and "different." It should be simply written in language that is easy to read because busy moms don't have a lot of time. NUTRITION PROJECT: The culminating activity for the Nutrition Units is: Each student in the class will bring a nutritious breakfast or mid-morning sample to share with the class ( enough to feed 8-12 people approximately). This will be similar to a "pot luck" breakfast/brunch. You will include a nutritional analysis of the ingredients in your recipe. |
