Luciano
Pereyra was born 21st. September in 1981 in Luján, Buenos Aires, Argentina. He
was baptized with the name Luciano Ariel Pereyra. He was raised by his father
Juan Ángel, his mother Ángela Gutkoski and his elder brother Marcelo Fabián.
His first contact with the music was at the age of three, when he sang a song
that he had heart in the radio. That same year he received a guitar as a present
for Christmas. The following year he entered a TV program contest, and he
reached the finals. At the age of nine, he sang in a TV program called "Festilindo"
and he also reached the finals. At the same age he also sang in Xuxa’s TV
program. He performed "Sólo le pido a Dios" (I just ask God) by León Gieco. Ten
years later he sang this same song to the Pope Juan Pablo II and to two million
people to celebrate the Jubileo.
He started his guitar lessons at a very early age. As time was going by he used
to join his father in different scenarios. They made a tour with his father’s
folklore band "Los del Regreso" all over the country.
When he was a teenager, due to his voice changes, he stopped singing but he
never left his passion aside. At the age of sixteen he joined a football team of
his town. Once, a football player watched him playing and invited him to
evaluate his abilities in Boca football team. Since he hurt his leg in the
second training he decided not to keep playing. As one of his songs says: with
the destiny previously arranged and after many performances, he was discovered
by Horacio Guarany (an argentinean famous folklore singer). |

In
1998 he recorded his first album named "Amaneciendo" (Sun setting). It has
thirteen songs with different rhythms such as ballads and waltzes mixed with
sambas and carnavalitos (traditional Argentinean dances). With the song "Soy un
inconsciente" (I am an unconscious man) he promoted the album spreading his fame
beyond his town of origin. This led him to be awarded with the quadruple of
platinum.
His great challenge was to conquer the Buenos Aires, so
he presented his show in the Opera theatre, located in Corrientes Street, in
September in 1999. More than six thousands people listened to him through his
three shows performed with great folklore artists. He took part in the most
important festivals that took place in the different provinces of the country.
As a consequence he was rewarded with many prices. |

It has twelve songs and some of them were written by Luciano. This new album had
the hit "Sólo le pido a Dios". This album is full of beautiful songs written by
many authors such as Eduardo Falú, Francisco Canaro, Jaime Dávalos and Paz
Martínez. With this album Luciano was at the top of the charts for more than
three weeks.
In 2001 he was awarded with the Gardel Prize for being the artist of the year.
At that same year, he was chosen to sing the National Hymn in a football game to
say goodbye from the football to Maradona. Two of his passions were joined
together: Boca football team and the best football player in the world.

distancia" (The distance). With new musical arrangements, he captured a new
audience not letting aside the folklore that had given him birth. After

in various South American countries finishing his tour with six full audience
concerts in the Luna Park.
In this same year he participated in the film "Tus ojos brillaban" (Your eyes
were shining) directed by Silvio Fishbein, in which he characterized a young

In June 2004, his new album appeared in which he included songs written by him.
His last album is called "Luciano", maybe it is an inspiration based on the
idea that he is one of the songwriters in this album.
There are a dozen of songs in this new album and it has different rhythms
such as pop, ballads, huayno and different mixes.
The most recognizable songs of the album are those written by Luciano, some
examples are "Perdoname" (Forgive me), "Luz de mis ojos" (Light of my eyes),
"Desde lejos" (Far away), "Sin
testigos" (Without witnesses). Many authors
helped him in this album, for example Alejandro Lerner, Coti Sorokin, Myriam
Montemayor Cruz. He presented this album in three concerts in the Luna Park,
and then he made a tour for various South American countries with great
