The gods are powerful and play a role in the affairs of mortals through their priests and followers. They are omnipotent entities of unimaginable power. Always they concern themselves with the affairs of the mortal world, but rarely do they directly influence events, other than the granting of powers and spells to their priests and clerics. That said, on occasion they have been known to help their most faithful servants and worshippers in more direct ways. Some of the gods vie with each other for influence and these struggles are often acted out through the efforts of mortals. No one god has yet achieved dominance, for should one become too strong, there are others who would ally themselves in opposition.
