Dragon Art Gallery III

This is third part of the Art Gallery. As in the first two parts, some of the images may be a little wider than your screen and you may have to move them around a bit to see the whole thing. The images take a while to load. Please be patient!

This is an image of a creature I consider one of my Guardian Angels--Beucephichis, the blue skunk wearing an aspen-leaf cloak. The image is rendered in my favorite medium, colored pencil.

Yet more evidence that I can draw non-dragon subjects--if only when they are in the form a a nice, stationary photograph that I can look at as long as I need to.

This dates from a time when I was reflecting about the traditional "four elements" and envisioning them in my mind. The first in the series is "Air". The female came out fairly well, but I fear the male looks a little too solid.(Odd, since air is traditionally a mostly "masculine" element.)

Since I was drawing this series during my High School days (mostly in class), I had to figure out a way to show the passionate nature of fire without drawing something that could get me kicked out of a Catholic school. Fortunately, I never had to find out if this fit the bill. This time the male and female both look okay, probably because they are interacting.

Here is another one that had me wondering if I'd make it to graduation, Water being the "sensual" element. I think I really did a better job on this one than any of the others, even though super-feminine Water is not (astrologically speaking) part of my makeup.

I like the female earth character, and even though her male counterpart came out better than Air's, he is still not all he could be. Maybe it's time to re-draw this series...
