A dedicated physician, Lieutenant Heart is a very hardworking individual. She cares immensely about her patients and is persistant in finding cures for their illnesses. Her last assignment was on Starbase 1. She has also served aboard the USS Sutherland and the USS Ajax.

Believes that there is an invisible man named simon who lives in her bedroom closet and helps her complete tasks (like a guardian angel). Otherwise, she is a very sensible person who is concerned about the wellfare of everyone she knows. She collects silverfish (bugs) and keeps them as pets. Her favorite is a silverfish named Fred who she carries around on her shoulder when she is off duty. He is usually attache to a leash that is hooked to her earring. He has a very elaborate apartment; a penthouse for a bug. She believes that he talks to her and she has indepth conversations with him in Ten-Forward. According to Dieda, Fred's favorite drink is a Sumarian Sunset.
