Hello there and Welcome to My Home Page. My name is Prissy, and I am a Blue and Gold Macaw. I am a native to the Tropical Rainforest of South America. I will possibly live to be 75-100 years old; so my flockmates will need to make sure I have a good home if something should ever happen to one of them. I let everyone in the house know when I am upset about something by letting out loud squawks and that usually is enough to get someone's attention on me. (hee-hee..works everytime!) Mom had to warn the neighbors about my screeching and squawks. She didn't want someone thinking she was being attacked by someone! So, if you're thinking about getting an awesome bird like me, make sure you don't live in an Apartment Complex or small mobile home park!!
I love to sit on the back of Moms chair when she is surfing the net. I love the music, and I love watching the screen with her. I love to climb up on top of her head sometimes, but Mom worries I may have an accident while I am up there (can't imagine why??) so she doesn't let me stay up there very long.
Delonie and James are my other flockmates. I like to play with them also, but I get a little nervous around James sometimes. He is very active and he runs around squealing a lot and peeling out like cars. I personally don't feel like anyone should be allowed to be louder than me!!
I love to eat Mom's cooking. Especially when she cooks those big traditional breakfasts on Sunday mornings! Anything that is good for you is generally good for me also; except for a few things. Don't worry, I still get my pellets, veggies and fruits, but I like to eat people food and try to act like I am not a bird at times. I feel sorry for all those birds outside who have to hunt down and dig for their food. They would really love my Mom!
I know it is time to eat when Dad sits down at the table. I get off my cage and make my way to the table to see what Mom has cooked up for us. I use to have my own chair at the table, but Mom kept getting upset with me because I kept trying to sharpen my hookbill on the chair. So, now I am not allowed at the table for dinnertime. (Everyone is always picking on me!) I thought humans had a better sense of humor! I'm not really sure if it was that or it was because I was trying to take food away from them. Sometimes, I think it would just be easier to go outside and try to dig up worms like other birds do. On second thought; I'm much to spoiled for that! :)
