It included the court house and all the records. Smith Isaac's had joined the Confederate Army there and we are not sure of the date. However, his name appears on the Company Muster Roll of Company A, Crawford's Battalion, Arkansas Calvary on March 17 to June 30, 1863. The value of his horse was placed at $200.00 and equipment at $25.00. However there is a notation at the bottom of this form which states; "NOTE: all of the officers and men of this company enlisted in the infantry regiment under command of Charles W. Adams, known as Adam's Reg't. T. M. A., August 9, 1862, and by special order of Leut. Gen. Holms, all of the men of that regiment were transferred to the command of Gen. Cabell of which this is a part." This implies that Smith enlisted in the Confederate Infantry on August 9, 1962. His serial number was 44802425. On October 12, 1865, Smith took his oath of Amnesty in Fannin County, Texas.
