She came up with the name MAKAJOS, taken from the names of her children – Marcos, 19; Kathleen, 13 and Joseph, 6. She started with P50,000 capital that includes the cost of all the materials for the balloon, printing tools, two motors, shop arrangement and fixing, few furniture and office equipment, advanced rental and utilities, additional ready-made party products to compliment the balloons. Right now, she is renting out a space in an apartment property of her sister-in-law in Pag-asa, Quezon City for P4,000 a month.

Aside from the balloon that she personally does, she also includes other ready-made party products that she gets on consignment basis. She sells these products on a markup or include them together with the balloon in several party packages, which she also created.

“I have a very minimum party package that costs only P3,500. This includes cake, balloon arrangement, Piñata or the modern-day Pabitin, banner, invitation cards and loot bags. I also have the most expensive party package at P20,000 that includes everything in the least priced package plus face painting, bubble show, English-speaking host, banner, personalized invitation cards that I also designed, candies for giveaways,” Purita explains.

Purita does not only provide party services and products but also organizes parties for debut, wedding, anniversary, birthday, kiddie parties and other special occasions. She has two major product lines:

The balloon making and arrangement cost separately based on the cost of the materials and labor. While the party needs and packages are a combination of various party products and services such as balloons, toys, giveaways, cake that she personally makes, ice cream, cotton candy, hosting, tables and chairs for rent, table arrangement, face painting, puppet show, and a lot more.
