| Comments: | I am descended from John Donahoe, b. 1760-70, d. 1833, Copiah Co., Ms, name of wife unknown. I have his will naming children John, William G., Nancy, Mary, and Betsy. I have spouses of all these children. They lived in Amite/Pike Co., Ms, before migrating to Copiah ca 1823. Near John in 1830 census of Copiah Co., is William Donahoe, b. 1750-60, a wife, no children in that census. There are many deeds in Edgefield Co., SC, for a William that appears to be this William and the same as the one in Laurens. My research indicates that they were the sons of John, who d. 1803, Laurens Co., SC, the son of a John who was hung in SC during the Revolution by Regulators as a Loyalist. Further research indicates that this John was was b. ca 1707 and was a captain in the French and Indian War, after which he settled in Cumberland Co., NC, then to SC. It is quite possible that he was a son of one of the Donohoes who settled in Somerset Co., Md., 1679. I am trying to get a copy of a new book on Md. soldiers in the French and Indian War. There were Isaacs in New Jersey in the 1600's. One Abraham Isaacs is stated to have "sworn on the Book of Moses, he being a Jew." Can you connect the Texas and Edgefield Co., SC Isaacs with the N. J. Isaacs family? |

His second marriage was to my ggrandmother, Beulah
Sanders Smith in Houston County, AL in 1926. Beulah
had 2 daughters from her first marriage, Elma b. 1918
and Ercele Inez(?) b.1922. William G. Creel and
Beulah had 2 children: William G, Jr. b.@1927 and
Evyline H. b. @ 1930. They are listed in the 1930
Census in Escambia Co. I believe Beulah died @ 1931,
but don't know how or what happened to the 3 youngest

I think your site is great and it might have helped me in
the direction of getting past a brick wall in my
research. My GGG grandfather was John Creel born in S.C.
and married to a full blooded indian. His daughter (my GG

Hi, I was looking through your names list. I am a
decendent of Levi Creel, Sr thru Duncan S. Creel. I've
just gotten copies of the Civil War records where Duncan
was discharged from the CSA army. Most list of him
however, seem to be be missing his first son - Samuel
Preston (that I've found in the census records, born
1869) - he was my gg-grandfather. I am slowly comparing
notes and adding to my list and would like to further
compare any notes you may have. I've printed out many of
