General Information
The movie Field of Dreams is a drama based on W.P.
Kinsella's novel. It was released in 1989 by Universal
Studios and recieved two Academy Award nominations. These
were for best original score and best adapted screneplay.
The movie featured Kevin Costner as Ray Kinsella, Amy
Madigan as Annie Kinsella, Gaby Hoffmann as Karen Kinsella,
and James Earn Jones as Terence Mann. The film was written
by Phil Alden Robinson and W.P. Kinsella. It was also
directed by Phil Alden Robinson. The music was composed by
James Horner.
The film is very similar to novel mainly because it was
co-written by the author. All of the characters are the same
with the exception of Terence Man. In the novel, this
character is the famous writter Jerry Salinger. We found the
film much more entertaining than the novel, but our teacher
does not agree. If you have read the book and seen the
movie, tell us what you think.
