A Short Bible Study

Many of you have heard of the incarnation...I would like to share with you something I learned about it's importance. You will need to take out a Bible.

Read Matthew 1:18-25

Now read John 1:9-14

The first set of verses tells of the miracle of God becoming a Son of Man. The second set of verses tell of that too...but also they tell of the miracle that we, through Christ, can become Children of God. No less a miracle!!!

Now, keeping in mind what we have just read, read John 3:1-21. I had read these verses before, but never understood them as well until I put them in the context of what we just read.

These talk about how we must be "born again." Christians tend to use this phrase rather lightly, but when we think about it, it's easy to see how Nicodemus would have difficulty with this idea. "How can one be born when he is old? He can not go back into his mother's womb, can he?" But Jesus, who was there before creation, was born of Mary. So we too can be "born again" into the family of God. Jesus was born into the flesh. When we believe in Jesus, we are born into the spirit (John 3:5). Praise God!
